Thinking of You Card

While digging through my older supplies, I found a pack of Berry Burst card stock and decided to make a card with it. I embossed a piece of white with a (retired) SU! Petal Burst ef and stamped the florals on the front with a stamp from the (retired) SU! Carte Postal set from 2006. I colored the flowers and stems with markers before stamping, adding some yellow glaze pen centers. The  butterfly was done with a Martha Stewart punch and I added a few clear gemstones to add sparkle. The sentiment is by Unity, and would have been stamped in Berry Burst had my matching ink pad not turned into a scummy green surface! Eww!

I found the tutorial for this flap fold card by Chicnscratch HERE and it's fun and easy to create. The message is underneath the butterfly panel.

I'm entering this into the Paper Players PP452 sketch challenge. I opted to put the sentiment on the main panel because there was more room for it there and I needed to fill in some white space at the same time :)

Also entering into the Retro Rubber challenge #116 which is a tic-tac-toe grid.

RRCB 116

I took the horizontal line across the bottom which is gems, nature, and color pens/pencils/inks

Thanks for stopping by and I hope everyone has a cool place to hang out today. It certainly is hot here in PA today! Whew!

This is a lovely design, Carol! I really like the embossed background and pretty berry coloring! I'm sorry to hear that you have been dealt another blast of heat and I hope it's short-lived, especially since I'm heading to the Midwest tomorrow! Here, thank goodness, we had a dramatic cool-down today! Hugs, Darnell

I used to always watch Chicnscratch too Carol. She is so fun and clever. I haven't watched in a quite a while though. To many You Tube videos that I can't keep up. lol Love how your card came out, it is so delicate and sweet. I love it! Ewww is right! I've never heard of a SU ink pad doing that. Has any other ones done it?! Wonder what caused it. Markers get a "growth" on them, I know what it is called but can't spell it. lol You can just wipe it off the markers, not sure about a stamp pad though. Desalinization! That is what it is called, again not sure if that is what is going on with your ink pad though. Hugs, Brenda

Oh my, this is one awesome card, Carol! I always LOVE a fun fold as long as it's not complicated! Love that your using your old stash and making such pretty cards! My Berry Burst Pad was getting wonky too and I took a paper towel and blotted the gook off and reinked it. Maybe that can help yours too! I think it's something in those real pads!! Anyways, love the sketch and the pretty floral images! Keep those oldie but goodies coming! Stay cool! Hugs~
