Twofer #9 Leaves

Hello everyone! Today I'm sharing my Twofer cards for challenge #9 where the prompt is "leaves." You are to make 2 cards using the same stamps/die for 2 different occasions.

I made a get-well card along with a birthday card using a leaf stamp from Hero Arts.

The flowers and leaves are both from Hero Arts, and I stamped and fussy-cut all of them, placing them on a GMD stitched die-cut oval which was placed on an embossed background done with a Cuttlebug Geometric Rings ef. The leaves were stamped on green dsp that has wood grain printed on it, and I curled them around a pencil and popped them up on mini foam squares for dimension. I colored the flowers with Zig markers and dotted the centers with markers and glaze pens in green, brown, yellow, and black. The sentiment is by SU! and I added 3 Nuvo black dots before placing it on a rose red cardbase. I also dotted the centers of each design on the embossed piece with Nuvo glitter drops just to fancy it up a little more :)

The birthday card is on a Hello Honey card base, and I used an EK punch to create the lower border; inlaying the punched negatives back into the border with assorted autumn colors of cardstock. I used the Hero Arts leaf to stamp the black panel with Versamark and heat-embossed it with gold ep. I stamped several more images again with Versamark ink and this time I embossed with a cadmium colored ep which gave the leaves a copper and gold two-toned look.

Here's a close-up and if you click on it, you can really see the two-toned effect. It looks better IRL but it's hard to photograph.

So there is my Twofer #9 for September 2018. I hope you liked the cards, and thanks as always for stopping by. Make it a great week ahead while you're at it!

Carol

The embossed leaves on the second card are gorgeous! Wow! So pretty...but then again, both cards are stunning. Love the dry embossed background on that first card too.

Carol, you blew my socks off with your beautiful designs! Hold on while I go get them and put them back on. It's a bit chilly here this morning. I am in love with your spectacular flowers and woodgrain patterned leaves and the dementia you achieved wrapping them around a pencil and popping them up! The texture is amazing with the stitched oval and that lovely e/f and the red mat frames the design perfectly! And your lovely birthday card could be a poster for the fall season! I love all the stunning embossing you did! It really brings out the cool design of the leaf and the punched and inlaid border adds wonderful color! Thank you so much for playing in Twofer Card Challenge #9! Hugs, Darnell

I have to buy that Tonic leaves punch you used in the second card :D LOL Fab effect with your inlaying! The shining muted colours of the dotted leave make them so precious!

These are amazing cards, Carol! I can't believe all the work you put into that get well card, and it is so very pretty. It's certainly going to help someone feel better in a hurry. Love all the dimension and the little added extras like the Nuvo drops. The birthday card is a breath of fresh Fall air. I adore that cadmium embossing powder and how it's added a whole new dimension to your HA leaves. Very cool! Thank you for joining us at the Twofer Challenge. Bev

Great job with this challenge! I'd have never guessed that was the same stamp?! Just goes to show how versatile our stamps can be if we really take the time to look/play with them!
