TMS #447

Another Tuesday has rolled around and that means it's time for the Tuesday Morning Sketch challenge, and this time we're working on sketch #447 - a fun sketch designed by our own Melissa.

As you can see, I veered off from the original sketch to make a Mother's Day card. I tried using the white punched EK Lattice Chain border along with the blue punched EK Flower Burst border as the sketch shows, but it was off balance - probably because the punched borders are much larger than the sketch shows. At any rate, I just double punched the blue on both sides and placed the white border direct center and added not a round, but an oval sentiment panel done with SP petite oval and scalloped oval dies. The dsp is retired SU! and the mother's day sentiment is by Inkadinkado and I added some white pearl drops to the flowers and sentiment panel to finish this card.

I hope you can find time to come play along with us this week, and for your inspiration, check out my DT members creations to get you started.

I'm also going to enter my card into the Snippets Playground #323 since the borders and ovals were all done with snippets of cardstock lying on my table. The dsp was also a snippet from my overflowing dsp doo-dad box!

Thanks for stopping by and have yourself a great Tuesday!

Carol

Carol, this is so gorgeous! I just love all the blue and white and wonderful dies and other details you used for it. A good reminder for me to make up some Mother's Day cards for my girls who are Moms.

I like your take on the sketch. You are right to balance your design up. It wouldn't have worked otherwise. Go You! For using us retired DSP.
