Tuesday Morning Sketch #438

It's Tuesday and that means it's time for Tuesday Morning Sketch challenge #438. Today we're revisiting Patti's favorite older sketch #400 designed by our own Debbie.

I used some SU! cardstock in colors of Fresh Fig and Powder Pink. I die cut a piece of grey pre-embossed dsp with a Tim Holtz Sizzix Mixed Media Thinlet along with a piece of Fresh Fig and placed all the grey negatives back into the die-cut Fig panel. When I laid it on the pink card base, it just needed something more, so I cut another piece of the grey embossed dsp and matted the Fig piece with it. Looking back, it would have been SO much easier to just mat the whole die-dut piece to begin with, but I'm one who always seems to do things the hard way :) The sentiment is by SU! done in Fresh Fig ink, while the twine is from Pizzazz Aplenty. I added a few clear gemstones to sparkle this up just a bit.

Tuesday Morning Sketches is sponsoring this week and Patti is offering this fun prize.

I hope you can find time to play along with this fun sketch and show us what you can do with it. Be sure to check the Tuesday Morning Sketch Challenge Blog to see what my DT members have made with this sketch! They're creations will surely inspire you!

Thanks for stopping by and make it a great Tuesday!

This is so pretty, Carol! I always seem to make cards more complicated than they need to be too but this one is just gorgeous in these colors and I love the diecut with the gray peeking thru! I think the embossing on it is what grabs the eye! Love the added rhinestones for a pop of sparkle, too! I am going to try VERY hard to play along this week as this is my favorite style of card with that tilted panel! Great job & TFS! :)

Before reading I thought that the hexagons were stenciled with a dimensional paste, instead they are embossed. Wow! Great texture!! Love the idea, brilliant! Another fab card! :)

Chuckling at you and the 'hard way'. You are definitely the queen of tedious inlay/paper piecing. At first I thought you'd done some paste embossing, as this is SO textured. It's a really cool design, and the colors are perfect together. (and elegant too!) See what you mean about the dark Fig with the gray, as it is a good contrast! Love the dimension on the hexagons. I also thought it was dimensional paste CArol, what a Super idea to emboss and then place them back in, a Gorgeous design with such lovely combo of colours.

I hear you about doing things the hard way Carol, we live and learn don't we or at least we are supposed to. lol This is a fabulous card and a great way to use that corner die. I love that you inlaid the piece, but I know how time consuming that can be to do-so worth it though! Loving this color combo too! Hugs, Brenda

This is gorgeous, Carol! I love the embossed pieces put back into the die! When I first saw your card, I assumed you had used a stencil and something for the effect. This is great!!

Just realized I hadn't commented on this weeks sketch challenge card yet! I just love the way you used the corner die for this sketch. I struggle using these dies and will have to give this way a go. Very pretty!

Your card is stunning Carol. I love the die cut and I honestly thought you used this same piece of silver embossed mulberry paper that I have been hoarding for years! Gorgeous.
