Just Fly

There's a challenge over at the HMFMC#215 that's "pastels" so I made a spring-like card using a watercolored background piece. I sponged inks on watercolor paper and spritzed it with water to blend the colors. I allowed it to dry completely, then embossed it with a Darice basketweave ef. The HM image was colored with Copics, and I used some fluorescent colors for the dragonfly. I sponged some clouds with Tumbled Glass ink, stamped some tree tops and added a Unity sentiment. Both panels were die cut with Lil Inker stitched rectangles.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend. We were fortunate enough to dodge that predicted snow, so all is calm in PA today.

Glad to hear the snow missed you. This is a perfect card to celebrate this event! Love your w/c & embossed background, which works terrific with this March wind HM card. These little meece are so cute, and the cloud effect is wonderful & so well done, with the tree tops just peeking out at the bottom corner. The dragonfly makes a super kite to drag them upward, and what a perfect sentiment on this card. Bound to inspire whomever receives it! TFS & Have a wonderful week.

Hi Carol! What a cute card - I love those little mice and they are always up to something! The watercolor background looks terrific as a background - great idea, and the embossing adds such a nice touch.

It was good to hear from you - thank you for your kind comments about my card. I had to put my two chihuahuas to sleep at the end of of 2015, one in October and the other in December. Those two little dogs were my closest fur baby companions for 17 years, so it was especially hard to let them go. Of course being shortsighted, I named my blog Boxes of Dogs and now I only have one little one who sleeps in a Costco box.

Hope you are having a great weekend!

I just adore the colors! Great idea to do tree tops! I saw some snow around 6 pm near the mall but as I got closer to home it was gone. It can stay gone.

Love those pastels with the basket weave embossing. Your choice of fluorescent colors for the dragonfly was perfect. Terrific sentiment. Fun card. We got about 3 inches of snow, but it was all gone by the evening. Have a good day.
