You Color My World!

The Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge is to create your own background without using any designer paper. I was inspired by Vicki's great card here, so I gathered my markers and just made one big mess! lol The papers are from the inside cover of a watercoloring paper pad, and I knew one day I'd find a use for that softly textured paper! I colored the papers randomly with markers in many colors and just had fun. I colored the crayons from the Lawn Fawn stamp set, along with the sentiment, adding negative snippet bits from border cuts. I fussy cut the crayons and popped them up on foam tape. Those little Lawn Fawn smiley faces get me every time :)

I had so much fun making the first one that I decided to use all my fluorescent Copics to make another. I stamped the sentiment on black cardstock with Versamark, and then heat embossed it with white. The white just didn't blend well with the rest of the card, so I colored the letters with Copics and added even more color. All of the mats were done with Lil Inker stitched rectangles.

I'm also entering these cards into the Shopping our Stash #220 challenge which is "show us your smile" - as well as the Snippets Playground #195 which is always to use snippets.

Here's wishing you a colorful day, and thanks for stopping by!

Carol

I love these backgrounds! I might try them with water color or Gelatos, though. Less coloring. (I am so lazy.)

Whoa! These are both way cool. I really like that second one. It reminds me of camouflage, but like if you trying to hide in the teen section of a department store. So Fun!

Wow Carol - such fun cards - I adore those backgrounds you made, and love the darling crayons :) Judy made me laugh about the camouflage for hiding in a teen store on your second card - spot on there! :)
