A Basket Filled with Summer Wishes

Today kicks off the August Digi Challenge of the month over at Deedee's digis blog. She has a brand new set called Seasonal Baskets which you can buy for a reduced price for the month of August - or - if you played along last month, you've already received this image for free! PLUS, Deedee's Digis is celebrating it's third birthday this month by offering a free download of one image from this set right HERE on the blog! You may choose the colored version as well as one you can color yourself, so there's no excuse not to come and play along!!

I used a pre-colored image from the set with a summer theme, and used some red, white and blue colors with a snippet of some red and white checkered dsp that reminded me of a summer picnic tablecloth. I die cut all the panels with a Lil Inker stitched rectangle die set, and added a plastic clip to the top with a smiley sunshine face just for fun. I also added some Spica glitter pen accents to some of the elements in the basket just to make them a little darker.

Since I used a couple snippets on my card, I'll be sharing this over at the Snippets Playground #188 too.

Thanks for stopping by and make it a great week!

Carol

A sweet and simple card. Sometimes you just don't need fancy embellishments to make a card fabulous. Well done, Carol.

Those baskets are cool. I like the fall one. I'm not dissing your card though, that is very nifty. I just happen to be a bigger fan of fall than summer.

You did such a nice job with the one. I used the same basket (will post tomorrow). Love that clip and your tablecloth looking paper. Just perfect. Have a wonderful evening. Hope it cools down for you soon.

The red and white dp seems really a picnic tablecloth and matches very well with this cute image. Love the plastic clip with the smile!! Fun card!! :D

Hi Carol
thank you so much for entering the playground with your fabulous picnic basket card!
I love how you have used a snippet of chequered DSP to add to the picnic style. All topped off with that perfect sentiment.

Ooh, I must have missed this set on my quick dash out to look. I think this will be a most versatile set, with many that I can see on cards. Really liking what you've done with the summer one. The gingham in the basket looks just super with your stitched gingham mat and the blue. Also like the way you've used the sentiment. Just love these precolors, as they are so easy to use! TFS & Have a great week. Hugs

Love, love, love this card Carol! I love that you used the red/white and blue color combo. That gingham paper is gorgeous, I so love gingham paper! But it is that beautiful basket that I'm so loving and it's wonderful sentiment too! Hugs, Brenda
