Love

Here's my card for the OWH sketch challenge #228. As usual, I took liberties with the sketch, centering the sentiment panel, and adding a butterfly to the bottom left instead of the upper right. I used 2 snippets of dsp from the Little Yellow Bicycle Vintage Summer paper pack which reminded me of a hand-made quilt. The raspberry and blue card stock is from SU! while the sentiment is one I received free in an order from Whimsy Stamps quite a while ago and never inked it until now! I inked it with markers and stamped it, then added some Hero Arts heart-shaped gems in red. For the butterfly, I used 2 sizes of Punch-a-Bunch punches, adding a clear heart gem to the center. The border was done with a MS doily punch.

I'm also adding this to the Snippets Playground #128 - must use snippets.

That might be it for me for a few days as rainy weather has arrived and I won't have much sunshine to take photos! Mother nature may surprise us and pop her sunny head through the clouds now and then - we'll just have to wait and see :)

Thanks for stopping by and make it a great week ahead!

Carol

Carol this is a super pretty love card and I'm sure the love you put into making it will be felt by the recipient. Very pretty quilt like paper here. We have been promised a nice day today but then our rain comes tomorrow. Have a great day, I'm sure you'll get a lot of crafting done while inside hiding from the rain. LOL

Love is like being wrapped in a warm quilt, so I think the sentiment goes quite nicely with that wonderful paper!

Oh Carol, I am loving this card! The sentiment is wonderful and so true and I love those papers you used! Great take on the sketch too. Yes, the weather is a little sketchy for us in PA. I don't know about you guys but we are starting to get a little dry, so we could use some rain. Have a great week Carol! Hugs, Brenda

Very pretty, Carol! Loving the red, white, and blue! I posted a r/w/b card myself today, I was just "in the mood" for those colors :)

Brilliant card Carol! LOVE the patchwork (at first I'd thought you'd been as mad as me and pieced all the little bits together) - a great card.

Hugs, Di xx

Wonderful card Carol. This does look like a quilt and the way you have designed it., the quilt looks as if it is folder over the back of a couch etc.

Great card and love that the sentiment was a freebie!

That paper looks exactly like a patchwork quilt! VERY cute and love the way the sentiment took center stage.
Enjoy that rain and stay safe.

That's so pretty! I love the papers, the sentiment, and the bling. Like Di, I thought you'd made the quilt paper from inchies and feared I'd have to cross the Mississippi to come stage a paper crafting intervention. lol

At least rainy weather is an excuse to stay indoors and make cards. :)

I thought 'quilt' too when I saw this lovely paper. Thought you might have 'hand made it' as you have done sometimes, with all the tiny squares. It's very pretty & vintage. Love the way you've inked the stamp too, and those glitzy hearts are wonderful accents. As is the tiny butterfly perched on your 'quilt'. Great snippety card. TFS
