Celebrating with Darnell

My friend Darnell over at djkardkreations is celebrating her 500 followers by holding her very first challenge! Yay Darnell, congrats on reaching such a milestone! She's gone and had this fancy badge made, and created a fun challenge for all of us to play along with right here. The challenge is "friendship" with anything goes and be sure and use some NBUS! That's the phrase Darnell coined which means "Never before used schtuff."

My card uses a NBUS dachshund image by Rubber Cottage that I bought at a craft expo recently and haven't gotten around to using until now. The Darice Paw Prints ef is also a recent expo purchase that hadn't been used until today (although I'd borrowed someone else's previously.) The sentiment is from a MFP stamp set I've used again and again, but somehow this sentiment never got inked until this card! The SNSS grassy die cuts were done with 2 shades of green and the card stock is soft sky and marina mist. We used to have a dachshund and I get suckered into buying dachshund images whenever I see them it seems. I just love the breed!

I'm also entering this into the OWH ODBD challenge for June to use die cuts or punches.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Carol

Now that sounds like a fun challenge! It is such a shame that I never get new supplies to use for that challenge...(NOT)! I see you beat me in using the Doxie, and quite well I might add. I shall be casing you very soon. Happy Sunday, Carol!

Fabulous card. I just commented on Mary Anne's blog. (Loved her horse card) It reminded me of your great humor...and Darnell's of course!) I just purchased some neat Fabric at that new craft shop that I went to (Yes, I went up there a second time) Hopefully, I will get out my sewing machine and sew again...wishful thinking.
Sorry about the rambling, Hope you get to enjoy our beautiful weather.

WOW, Carol, this darling card is a veritable parade of NBUS!! I love it! I've never seen that ef and I think it's awesome (eeekaroo, more NBUS comin' in!) and I love that two-shades of grass.

As for the doxie, I think I may have mentioned once how much I love them! I didn't use to love them; in fact, for most of my life when I saw one, I would think, what? What IS that about, silly-looking dog? But then I went and spent some time with my sister helping her when her husband passed and then staging her house and she has a little doxie named Lucy. Well, please!

We have had two golden retrievers, a yellow lab and a black labs which tells you I am a "big dog" person. Nn-uhn, not any more! The Mister isn't too enamored of the idea, but he knows that IF we were ever to get another dog, it'll be a wee weinie dog. Lucy is SOOO smart and those eyes that are SOOO human? OMG, she just hooked me all the way!

Sorry for the ramble, but I had to share when I this sweet card that looks EXACTLY like Lucy!

Thank you, my friend, for your fab shoutout and for supporting my NBUS challenge! I appreciate it very much!! Mwah! Darnell

I love your card and I am loving the cute little scene you created. I should join that challenge as I have lots of "schtuff" that I purchased and never used. This sounds like fun so hope I can play a bit with it.
