Back to Christmas

I went back to Christmas card mode after seeing the Shopping our Stash #144 challenge which is to use our oldest tree stamp. I dug out this Flourishes image which I haven't used in quite some time and embossed it with gold on some vanilla cardstock. I made a funky-fold card and added some embossed panels of long-retired sage shadow cardstock (remember that color?) on the sides. I dotted the embossed berries with a gold paint pen, but it looks dull in the photo, probably because of the tilted angle not catching the light properly. I gold-embossed the sentiment to match and added some satin vanilla ribbon along with some red Geo sparkler stickers to the tree and called this one done. It felt good to dig back into my stash again to make this card!

Make it a great day and thanks for stopping by today!

Carol

Looks great...This is such a great tree and is versatile too. Could be used in a create a scene card as well as a Christmas one.

Great colours and use of VOS (very old Schtuff to quote Darnell).

Beautiful card. I love this little gems and the embossing also. Yes I not only remember Sage Shadow, but I still have some left. It was one of my favorites. Your sentiment is lovely in the gold. Have a good day. It hasn't started to rain here yet,but I guess it will shortly.

I've been able to go from the 'cute' in your cards to the 'beautiful' on my visit today. This one is gorgeous. Didn't look dull on my monitor at all. The gold is very shimmering & your red ornaments pop right out. I am not familiar with this color (guess it's SU stash, before my time! LOL). Loved the holly embossing and you even added the berries' colors on the embossed background. Funky-fold is a new term to me. But it's very pretty. TFS & giving me such a joyful visit this afternoon. Hugs & Happy wkend.

My submission for the challenge is not dissimilar. I'm curious as to why the sentiment strip is longer than the card base itself?

You do a fabulous job...with shopping your stash to come out with this beauty. This is my favorite card fold...I have a card half done right now using this fold. I like everything about this card...not just the fold, but the beautiful stamping, the colors...It's so elegant looking.

Oh my gosh! Too funny! I really wanted to do this Shopping Our Stash challenge and even dug out my oldest tree stamp which was.... this one! Or very similar by another company. But then I got sick didn't do more than emboss it. I don't think I could have done it the justice you did though. This is very elegant and the card design you picked for it is perfect!!!

Are you kidding? Sage Shadow was the whole reason I joined SU as a Demo! LOVED that color. I might have hoarded it.
