OWH Stars and Stamps Sketch Challenge #212

Here's the easy-peasy card I made for the OWH sketch challenge #212. I decided I'd work with the first card stock base I pulled from the stack, and it was this pretty soft blue color from Bazzill. I now cut my stash of 12x12 cardstock into card base sizes, score them, and just stack them until I need them. This time I just grabbed one from the top and then searched for some matching papers. These dsp snippets are from a retired SU! pack of Beau Chateau dsp, and I added a few pieces of kraft too. I used a SU! banner blast punch for the banners, a SU! small heart punch, and a SU! owl punch for the smaller hearts. The ef is SU! square lattice, while the sentiment is from SNSS. That pretty natural-colored twine is from Whisker Graphics divine twine - a fabulous prize I won in the Cards from the Heart Drive this year! (lucky me!)

I'm also taking this one over to the Snippets Playground #112 where all the other snippet users are having fun :)

The sun is out today here in PA, and I love when it shines through the house! I always feel so much better when it does :)

Make it a great Sunday and thanks for stopping by!

Carol

Great job with this challenge. I'm not great a making banners so I'm trying to think of another direction to take this one. I love the base color and it goes so nicely with the kraft. I love the double layered hearts. I also like that the banners and the sentiment have matching paper. The sun is out here also, finally. Enjoy your Sunday.

Great card, Carol, and I do like your embellisments and that pretty color for your card base.
AND YES! Isn't it great that we can see that sunshine! Maybe that snow will finally melt away!

I'll have to remember this - just pull out the first piece of card stock and run with it! Very nice and love that sketch for today. Pretty colors too.
Keep the sun shinning to melt some of that snow. Better days are coming!

Really pretty soft card, love the hearts and love how you duplicated the line paper in the design and the sentiment. Pulls it altogether!

I like your philosophy with the paper treatment! This quick decision on your paper selection, yielded a beautiful card.Am really liking your use of this banner punch too, and your mesh EF border looks so much like burlap. Great card, love it! Hope the snow is soon moving out of your area, Pal. And that you folks can take a day off the shoveling brigade! TFS & Hugs

Great job finding paper to match your base It has really been a winter of prepping in our stamp rooms. Love how this sketch card can out, Carol. Lost the sun in my parts, and just hoping to make it to work tomorrow for a bit.

The sun definitely brings out the best in us, so I'm glad you are getting some today. I like your card and how it came to be. I have occasionally done that with patterned paper--I will make a card with whatever I pull out without looking. It can be a fun challenge. I really like your card design with the hearts and banners. Before I got out of bed today my snippet card was going to have those banners on it. I guess I left that idea behind to sleep in!

Nice soft colors. I have a pile of card bases but never think to just pick one and go with it - great tip. I like with you did with the hearts. TFS. Sun was shining here earlier, now it is cloudy. Enjoy your week.

Beautiful card! I love your choice of colors and the nice embossing on the kraft stripe. Thanks for sharing!

Love the blue and kraft together! At first glance I thought the kraft was burlap ribbon.

Beautiful card Carol. I love blue, but especially this color. Love the hearts above the banners and the embossing. Thanks for playing!

I've never chosen my paper that way. I would probably pull something hideous out and have to use it. Ha But, you did great and this is a beautiful blue. Love your card.

Our weekend has been beautiful...so much warmer and sunny. It was in the 60's today. Yea!!!

Such a good idea to have your supply of card ready stacked for use. I have a pile of 12 x 12 which I never think to pull out and use but would be ideal as card bases. Thanks for the that.
Like the blues you have put together and the twine is the finishing touch. Hugs Mrs A.
