This is a free digi that Deedee Anderson offered recently, and I honestly don't know if I've done it justice or not. The more I worked on this card, the less I liked it. I thought the dsp with the peppermint candies would work well with the peppermint whipped cream that I colored, but somehow it all became too busy when I put it all together. I colored the image with Copics, added snippets of DCWV card stock and snippets of ribbon and a sentiment from a SNSS stamp set. I punched a blue heart from the matching dsp and added it to the top of the ribbon snippet. The dsp is a very old piece of Basic Grey I've had for years! The horizontal panel was embossed with a Sizzix ef and I layered the image with Spellbinders circle & scalloped circle dies.
I used the Tuesday Morning Sketch #227 for this, and miraculously I've not run out of time to link it up as I often do!! LOL I'm also entering it into the Snippets Playground #102 since I used snippets of paper and ribbon.
S.N.O.W. is in the forecast for PA today, so I'll be finishing up some holiday baking and wrapping today. It will be a good day to be inside :)
Thanks for stopping by and I wish you all a warm and wonderful day!
Carol

Hope you have a good WARM day!
I love both of these. The first is so classy looking and beautiful. Love those colors!
The second isn't too busy at all. The peppermint background is great with that image.
Two wonderful cards!

Carol, I love this OWH card and the colors you used with it. I adore those little flowers with the gems. Such a sweet touch. Great sentiment also. I've been trying all morning to decide which way I want to go with this one, hopefully my brain will kick into gear soon. Your Deedee Anderson card is lovely. I don't know why you are not totally happy with it. I think the paper goes great with it and your vertical strips are just right. It's cute as a button and I vote it to be a winner. Enjoy your day.
Two more beauties, Carol! Ran out early and we are tucked in now. Enjoy the day, what ever you get into.
Your pool party and kraft papers look super together and I love that butterfly. The sentiments on both are great.
I really like the peppermint paper on the next card. It's an adorable card and perfect for winter.
Ooh, I WANT snow. I saw some spitting snow yesterday morning and sleet last night but nothing much at all. Hopefully, we'll get a good snow this year.
I'm with Lynn...I loved both of these cards also. Didn't think that your peppermint paper was too busy at all, because the image is not overly detailed. Loved all the bits you added too...it just was a wonderfully festive card. And loved your EF butterfly on #1. Reminded me I have this EF too! I forget about the 'little ones'. Hugs & stay warm & cozy. TFS
I love the second card the best. The colours are perfect together.
Hugs Mrs A.
Both cards are just adorable. I love the colors you used in the first one and the second one doesn't seem too busy to me at all. I think you pulled it together quite nicely! Thanks for sharing!
Love the embossing on today's OWH sketch card. The text background is such a great touch.
I like your Tuesday Morning Sketches card. The peppermint candy background looks great with the main image. I don't think your card too busy, just really cute and happy!
Beautiful cards! I just love the first one so much. The embossing is simply perfect and the colors are lovely. Wonderful job!
These are both wonderful!! I love the papers and colors on the second one!
Thanks for joining us this week at Tuesday Morning Sketches!!
Both cards are lovely! And I have one of those "negleted" embossing folders too! You have inspired me to get it out...
And you are so right it was a good day to stay inside with all the snow. (but I had plans to go away!)
When I first saw this sketch I immediately thought of you as it is a perfect showcase for embossing. Yummy colorway! The second card is just fun. tfs!!!
Hi Carol . . .I like BOTH these cards.
Stay warm & cosy.
