Lots of White Space Christmas Card


There's a tutorial and "boot camp" challenge at the Stars and Stamps blog today that's all about using white space as a design element for your cards. I just love the tree pattern in this embossed panel and thought it could stand alone, so I worked around it instead of "on it."  (Sorry, I embossed this panel at a friend's house and don't know who makes it.) I added a panel of olive card stock and matching striped ribbon, along with a red banner. I punched 3 mini trees with a SU! punch, and embossed the SU! sentiment in gold to bring it all together. What I like most about this card is that it's flat and won't require extra postage!

    Hi Carol! This design is a really nice example of using white space as a design element and the embossing texture is wonderful and adds so much interest. It's the kind of card you wish you could hold in your hands to feel it. Thanks for joining in on the Sept. Bootcamp!

    Hi Carol, I love embossing folder that you used on your card. The little gold trees add a nice touch with the gold embossed ribbon.

    Pretty Christmas card, I like all the texture. Your trees first reminded me of my crochet days. when I would make ripple aghans...smile.

    Your white embossing just makes the rest of the card sparkle & shine. Like bright snow on a winter's day. Loved the stripey ribbon (Christmas candies?) with the red banner over top of it. Sweet little mini tree trim too. TFS
