The challenge for this week's OWH Stars and Stamps midweek throwdown is "Christmas in July." I've been making Christmas cards for several weeks now so I have plenty in my stash to send. The trees were done with an older Quickutz "cookies" die and the deer is from the Memory Box deer trio. The embossing folder is by Cuttlebug and the sentiment is from SU! More Merry Messages. I added stickles to the trees and snow-covered hill, but I'll cover it all with Glossy Accents before mailing.
I hope you're staying cool wherever you live, and thanks for stopping by!
Thanks Di for letting me know that this card works for Craftyhazelnut's Christmas challenge CHNC 133 which is trees, so I'm linking this card up there too.
Carol
Carol, I love this scene. The deer just beyond your snow-covered hill is super. The sparkle on the trees is just perfect.
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing this card cooled you off a bit as you were making it. Try to stay out of the heat.
Super card Carol - love those trees and I too have some cookie dies (not as fancy though) from when I started crafting. Err, oh no I haven't, I gave them away to someone else who was on a budget :(
ReplyDeleteAnyhow, why don't you link this into Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge as it's trees this week (until Friday) - and of course her Christmas challenge extra is always anything goes.
Hugs, Di xx
Beautiful winter scene! Love those little trees and the way the deer is peeking out from them. Another wonderful card for Christmas.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful Carol! I am not ready for Christmas scenes. I am hot but I will take that any day over the hills of snow!
ReplyDeletewonderful winter scene- the deer and the trees help to set the mood-I am ready for some cooler weather! Your embossing is gorgeous and I love the layout of the card!
ReplyDeleteI am loving the cool, frosty thoughts you are putting in my head. Those cookie cutter trees are really neat!
ReplyDeleteVery nicely done, Carol, and it's nice to know that I'm not the only one making Christmas cards right now.
ReplyDeleteOooh...very pretty and such a nice scene. I love the details on the deer, it is so delicate.
ReplyDeleteCarol,
ReplyDeleteThis is so pretty. Love all the texture, dimension, and details. Especially love the little deer peeking out amongst the trees.
This is very pretty, Carol! I really like the embossing and the cute die cut deer you added!
ReplyDeleteCarol, I can feel the cool winter air when looking at this beautiful card. With a different sentiment, it could easily be a winter-themed card for a longer 'shelf-life'. Nice job!
ReplyDeleteLove the trees and that majestic deer - delightful card - thanks for entering my CHNC challenge 133 - you could also enter this into my CHNC challenge extra for July - I'd love to see it there too. x
ReplyDeleteI love your throw down card! How fun with those trees and that deer! Love it!
