I'm already making Halloween cards so that I have some ready for OWH before their shipping deadline. They don't want scary cards for Halloween, so I thought this cute pumpkin image was ideal. It's a new image from the SU! holiday catalog called "Halloween Happiness" which will be available for purchase on August 1st. I clear embossed the image, then colored it with some neon Copics. I stamped the sentiment again, cutting it out and layering it on a banner, then pierced around the edges. The dsp is by Teresa Collins, and the border was done with an EK punch. Ribbons are from my stash.
I'm entering this into a challenge called Cards in Envy and their challenge this week is "layers, layers, layers."
I'm also entering this into Pixies Crafty Snippets Playground #81 since I used snippets of dsp, card stock, & ribbon to put this card together.
I hope it's cool in your part of the world today because southeastern PA is in the midst of a week-long outdoor sauna! It's hot!! Thanks for stopping by and have yourself a fabulous "cool" day!
Carol
Great non-scary Halloween card, Carol. Your neon coloring is just perfect. You are always ahead of the game. Good for you!
ReplyDeleteA new, to me, challenge and you nailed it. I love these pumpkins. You made them look so happy and appealing. You made a lot of lovely layers. You have reminded me to get going on some Halloween cards myself. Off to do some shopping in some cool stores and then back home in the a/c. To darn hot to do anything. We are in the same sauna. Temps today 98 with feel Like temps all this week are 100+.
ReplyDeleteI watered the garden this morning at 6:15AM and it was way too hot then.
This is such a sweet Halloween card, Carol! I just got this stamp and can't wait to give it some ink!
ReplyDeleteGreat Halloween card! Really cute! Thanks for sharing about the new challenge. My first thought was "Now, here's one for me!" Layers, as you know, I like to do layers! Smile...However, the card I just made wouldn't fit...It's 5" by 6 1/2". I do make some A2, but most of my cards are the larger size.
ReplyDeleteCute! I love Halloween! That's a great idea to start now making them for OWH! Love the different layers and those adorable pumpkins! This is, indeed, Halloween Happiness! Thanks for sharing at Cards in Envy!
ReplyDeleteI love these pumpkins, can't wait to get them in my next order....impatiently waiting for the man in brown to bring it! Very cute, perfect for OWH! Stay cool, my friend!

ReplyDeleteLove this little gem. You reminded me I need to get busy & start on Halloween & Fall cards. Love your lil' punkins and will be watching SU for this image. DH likes Halloween stamps. It was hot when we came through Scranton, WB - PA. last week. Extremely hot up in Boston too. And hot in our SC area, but cooler temps than Massachusetts had. So thankful for A/c. TFS & hugs
