Christmas in July

Here's my card for this week's OWH Stars & Stamps sketch challenge #181.
I had no clue where to begin with this sketch until I pulled a beautiful paper pad out called Blissful Blizzard by Fancypants. I bought this last year and barely dug into it, and once I saw all the coordinating patterns and colors, I decided to make a Christmas card. I also altered the sketch to be a tall card. I used a piece of silver metallic card stock and a SU! ornament punch to create the ornament, then embossed it with a portion of a Tim Holtz Christmas ef. I tied it up with some silver cording and wine-colored satin ribbon, adding 3 very tiny silver star brads. The sentiment panel is from SU! More Merry Messages, embossed in silver and layered on Smoky Slate card stock and done on a SB ribbon tag diecut. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked this card after thinking I couldn't make the sketch work at all!

Thanks for stopping by and make it a great day!

Carol
