Ice Ice Baby!
I guess you could say we got off lucky considering the blizzard conditions in the mid-west part of the country, but we got a very nasty ice storm overnight. We woke up with our power off this morning, and although it was really only a minor inconvenience being out for just a few hours, it's been blinking off & on ever since. That part IS annoying when my computer dies while I'm in the middle of something! LOL
Anyway, I thought I'd share some pics if you're interested. The first photo is looking out my back door, down through the yard. The tree branches are all covered with ice and look SO pretty!
This photo is looking out my front door, toward my best friend's house (zoomed in). I just love the look of those beautiful, white, ice-coated tree branches!
This is a shrub just off the front porch completely encased in ice.......
And this is what the back deck looked like! We've been here over 23 years, and this is the first time I've seen icicles hanging off the deck railing like this!
On a brighter note - Punxsatawny Phil (our famous PA groundhog) did not see his shadow today, so we're due for an early spring! I'd say we all deserve it after the harsh winter we've been having! I almost forget what a sunny day looks like! LOL
Stay warm, take care and thanks for stopping by today!
Carol

Great pictures, Carol! I was afraid if I went out to take some, and slipped, I would be down until dark. It is finally starting to fall off the trees here. DH had a job in Atlantic City bright and early this morning and he said when he got there it was 55 degrees!!!!! How crazy is that? We are very lucky not to be getting what the mid-west is. Glad your electric came back quickly!!! Warm Hugs.
Hi Carol,
I enjoyed seeing your pictures today, wow... I'm in Arizona and we are having cold weather with wind but nothing like you! The ice on the deck railing looks neat.
Thanks for leaving a comment on my blog and letting me know about the colored digi stamps, I bookmarked the site!
Stay warm my friend! Jan
Yes, our yard looked very similar...and I had those same icicles hanging off my railing too!!! Now the blue sky is peeking out through the clouds!!! Crazy weather!
Oh my gosh, I'm RAISING MY HAND SO FREAKIN' HIGH! I'm really tired of winter....blahhh!...I'm ready to see green grass, leaves, and flowers again. :)
Looks beautiful but I know how cold and treacherous ice can be. Let's hope the weather changes soon. Pat
These pictures are beautiful, although I'm sorry to hear you lost your power, we were lucky here in my neighborhood and didn't. The kids did have off today and yesterday though. As much as I love the snow, I am now officially "over" winter, and ready for SPRING! Lets hope Phil is right this year ;)
OK - I didn't scroll down far enough to see your ice pics before I commented on your horse card... I too am ready for the spring, but can I say I'd have much rather had snow than this ice?! :o)
Yup, I'm raising my hand too, I'm tired of the snow and ice. And like you, our power was off too, but not as long. Come on spring...
Early Spring? I sure hope so. I am enjoying seeing all the pictures folks are putting up with the snow and ice scenes. These are really beautiful. We got a couple terrible ice storms (one being 11 inches of ice) several years ago. Trees were popping all over the neighborhood. And, some industrial roofs collapsed under the weight. Very unusual in my part of the country.
Oh that famous groundhog....I sure hope he's right and we get an early spring! All this snow here and no one knows what to do with it because they are not use to big snow storms like this one. Our streets are still snow covered! It'll be weeks till it melts with high temps in the teens. Ughhh...i'm ready for warmer temps & beautiful flowers as we all are!
Thanks for sharing your pics. Ice can be horrible to drive in but sure paints a beautiful picture!
Stay warm my friend!
Oh and add my hand to that picture! lol
Guess I'll not complain about a little rain and temps in the 40's here, eh? The pictures are beautiful, Carol, as long as one doesn't have to try and drive anywhere!
