Ever since I made the fishing card the other day, I've been using kraft cardstock for everything! I really love the look of kraft, so I decided to try making a Christmas card with it, and this is the result. The stamped image came from my friend Michelle of StampersDream.com and I believe the stamp is by Penny Black. It appears that it might be sold out because I'm unable to find it. He sure is a cute little guy isn't he?
I colored the image with Tombows and matted it with pale blue and mint green cardstocks to match his hat and scarf. I added some dazzling diamonds to the wreath and pom-pom for a little sparkle. You might be able to see that if you click the photo. I outlined around the image with a brown marker and stamped the sentiment with a $1 spot stamp from Michaels.
So tell me what you think of using kraft for a Christmas card? Does it work or not?
It's a rainy Monday here in SE PA, but my husband mentioned that the dust was beginning to fly again, so I guess it was time for another good soaking :) This rainy Monday isn't going to get me down, though - I'm stamping :)

I love Kraft card stock but just always forget to use it. This is so darling, Carol, and absolutely fabulous coloring. Love how you outlined the image, too, stopping short of the sentiment.
Very sweet....and I love that sentiment. I never have luck with those $1 stamps, but you seem to do well!!! Adorable!
