Welcome Baby Girl

A friend of mine needed a baby card for someone expecting a girl, so I made this card for her while she's busy crocheting a baby blanket. Quite a few years ago, a former blogger; Jessi Fogan, sent me an assortment of these beautiful hand-crocheted medallions in a few different sizes and colors. I have treasured them through the years not only because they're beautiful, but also because Jessi is no longer with as she sadly passed at a very young age in 2019. As long as I have some of these hand-made medallions, her memory will never be forgotten. RIP Jessi. You had such a kind and caring heart.
There was one pink one left in the box that I thought would be just perfect for a baby card. I used a 2009 Sweet 'n Sassy stamped image on a snippet of white; then colored it with Copics and glaze pens. I die-cut it into a circle and placed it inside of the medallion. I used a Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder to make the background, and then used an ancient Spellbinders ribbon tag die to cut and layer the sentiment panel from 2 more snippets. I fussy cut the white piece to fit inside the pink piece and attached it with white sheer ribbon, adding 2 punched hearts done with a (r) SU! mini punch and 2 snippets of white pearlized paper. For the final touch and I added 2 pink sequins in the heart centers for a bit of sparkle. The sentiment is from the same Sweet 'n Sassy stamp set as the image..

I'm sharing this with the following challenges:

The Snippets Playground Challenge #483 - must use snippets

https://pixiessnippetsplayground.blogspot.com/2024/06/challenge-483.html

The Retro Rubber Challenge #233 - Use Stamps older than 1 year with this tic tac toe grid

I went diagonal with Die Cut, Summer, and Sequins

The Little Red Wagon Challenge #762 - Layer it Up

https://lilredwagon.blogspot.com/2024/06/challenge-762-layer-it-up.html

It's still incredibly frustrating that blogger will no longer allow me to link these challenge blogs by inserting the text into the actual link. It makes writing up a post more cumbersome than it should have to be. If anyone has a fix, I'd love to hear about it. Some bloggers have mentioned they cannot enlarge their photos anymore, but I found that if you click two times on that image size box, the second click gives you the option to choose a different size.

Thanks for stopping by and make it a great Wednesday! Keep smiling, life is good in spite of the hiccups 😉

Sorry to hear about Jessi, I didn't know her, but by your words for her I'm sure she was a beautiful soul. That pink crocheted medallion is so sweet, just perfect to frame the cute image! It's a very sweet card for a new baby girl and that sentiment is awesome, so true!! Love your colouring and design, the embossed background and those cute little hearts on the label!
Here blogger hasn't changed for now. I will treasure your tip about the image for the future, who knows what will happen...
For the link, there is the possibility to swatch the writing post view from writing view to HTML view. In HTML view you can add html code for links, but you need to know some html programming... not so easy.
Hope that they will solve this bug sooner!
Sending big hugs and love!

What an adorable card Carol, the crochet border makes it so different. I remember when Swiss Dots EF came out many years ago, it was like getting hold of gold dust.

As for blogger, I've not encountered a problem (as yet), I still get the drop down option/paperclip icon to add the html to the written text.

Awe! That is the sweetest baby card Carol! There's nothing more cute than seeing tiny clothes hanging on a line! The beautiful crocheted medallion is extra special too! I do remember Jessi and her making these. How special that you have them and it's wonderful to have used it on your special card for your friend too as it keeps her memory going! Really precious in every way!

Your heartfelt baby card is a beautiful tribute to your friend Jessi. The hand-crocheted medallion, a cherished gift from Jessi, adds a special touch to celebrate the arrival of a baby girl. The use of Copics and glaze pens on the Sweet 'n Sassy stamped image, along with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder and Spellbinders ribbon tag die for the sentiment panel, creates a lovely and meaningful design. The addition of pink sequins adds a touch of sparkle, making it a perfect keepsake for the recipient.

What a delightful new baby card Carol! And so lovely to use one of Jessi's crochet works - she would have loved that for sure. The loss of a sweet friend is so hard - but you're making her memory carry on.

Sorry I can't help with the linking issues other than to suggest you perhaps try a different browser? Also, clearing the browser you use of cookies can often help as a first try!

When I saw your Snippits when, I knew that had to be Jessi. I think I still have one more hoarded one. Fabulous card.
