We had a little bit of snow a few days ago and may be getting more of the white stuff early next week, so I figured it's a good time to make a card like this. A thoughtful sweet friend (thank you!) sent me this Cottage Cuts die recently so there's no time like the present to put it to good use. I die cut it in GinaK Blue Raspberry cardstock along with several other colors and yes, I actually paper pieced all those itty bitty negative bits to add a little color to the snowman. I pulled out a very old MFT letter stamp set and made the sentiment, matting each one with more matching cardstock. I added 2 die cut stitched snowflakes from Lawn Fawn, covering them with Diamond Stickles and adding a tiny blue gemstone to the center of each one as well as the letter "I" in the sentiment. The background was embossed with an older retired SU! ef that I've always been a fan of for wintry cards.
I will share this with the following challenges:
The Little Red Wagon Challenge #738 - show some snow
Craft Rocket Challenge #110 - use embossing
NBUS Challenge #58 - Never Before Used Schtuff
Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you're keeping warm and comfy wherever you are.
I saw this sign today on my way back home today from the store:
Sausage jokes are the wurst . 😆
Keep Smiling 😉

Darling card, and tomorrow we are supposed to get snow.
ReplyDeleteSuper card and a great choice of embossing folder for the background. Well done for popping all those itty bitty pieces back into the die cut 😊
ReplyDeleteThat’s a fab wintry card. How kind of your friend to gift you that die. You showed great dedication by doing the tiny infills.

Stay warm & cosy xxx
This card is just the cutest, Carol! Love the colors, the diecut sentiments and the pretty embossed background!! Wonderful winter card but I really hope the snow passes us by! LOL I am a huge fan of snow around the Christmas season but after that I really could live without it. Hope you stay warm and spend some time at your stamp table while it gets bitterly cold out....that's my plan, too! TFS and wishing you a nice weekend ahead! Hugs~
ReplyDeleteYour card is gorgeous, but I don't want it to snow here! Our little town is about a kilometer in each direction, so it can snow everywhere alse, just not here, please! Hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteSo cute
ReplyDeleteHow cute and fun die you received from your friend! Really adorable and you always stunning me with your patience and accuracy with inlay! I haven't this patience and I'm not accurate at all! Beautiful embossing and design with the rest of the sentiment and the sparkling snowflakes!
ReplyDeleteWere I live the snow never falls... We are a few kilometres by the sea and the climate is warm. To see the snow we have to go on the mountains at an hour of car from here. Hope that you enjoy yours!
It's difficult to me translate the joke on the sign, but it seems a thing for adults only :D LOL
Hugs dear Carol, have a great weekend and stay warm!
Great embossed background and love the paper pieced snowman-thankfully no snow here!

Forecast snow next week. It is bitterly cold here so will need to warm slightly before it does. Love your card. I have just sat and embossed lots of white scraps of carsdstock to use on my cards. Hugs mrs A.
ReplyDeleteThis is cute, Carol. but as others have said before me...I'm not ready for snow. (If I was age 10 I would be jumping up and down with Joy!)
ReplyDeleteCarol, thank you so much for the very kind comments you said on my blog. Maybe someday we could get together and craft again. I so enjoyed crafting with you (and Cherie...we were a good threesome)
Oh what a cute winter card!

ReplyDeleteThanks also for entering into our sisterhood of crafters challeng and also our Four seasons, Carol goodluck xx
That is a great embossing folder. Your patience is amazing by the way you paper pieced all those tiny bits. I like that bright turquoise color too. AND, of course the joke. That's right up my alley!
ReplyDeleteAll of that texture in the background is stunning and certainly makes for a great snowfall! Such a cute die and I hope you at least stay warm on cozy with all of this snow! I would just like to get out of the high being a -9 degrees! Brr!
