A Sad Occasion

Sadly, a friend of mine recently lost her beautiful pet Dachshund and I made this card for her. I always visualize our pets going to the rainbow bridge when their time on earth is done, so I sponged some clouds and added a rainbow  and clouds done with Lawn Fawn dies and snippets of paper. I added a little shimmer to the clouds with some Wink of Stella. If you look closely, you can see the image of a dachshund that I stamped with iridescent ink at the end of the pawprints. I stamped a tiny red heart on the card next to the sentiment.

This is what I put inside the card. I've had this dachshund stamp for quite a few years. I bought it when we used to have a dachshund of our own, and I remember our Bitzi every time I see this stamp. The sentiment is from PTI.

Thanks for stopping by and I wish you all a good week ahead.

Carol

  2. Always so sad and equally painful time for pet owners, been there too many times. I am sure your friend will really appreciate your kind gesture. One of our Granddaughters and Husband have a Dachshund, they are feisty little characters for one so small.

  8. This is a gorgeous pet sympathy Carol! I did a rainbow bridge as well for my card. Not near as beautiful as yours though and in my haste to get it in the mail, I never got a photo of it. I love the pale image of the Dachshund and of course your sky looks amazing. It is indeed a very sad time, sad anytime we love a furbaby. It's not fair that our pets can't live a longer life. I know this friend will appreciate this card so much! You are such a blessing Carol, to us both. Hugs, Brenda

  11. How sweet and thoughtful card you made for your friend's loss! Pets are family members and their life is sadly too short... Your card speaks by itself and it's really precious with the scene you have created! Love the idea of the delicate iridescent Dachshund under the rainbow with his paws tracks, perfect! The cloud is just perfect too to add dimension and the little red heart looks so sweet. The Dachshund stamp inside is wonderful!
Sending big hugs and love, dearest Carol! Have a good week yourself!
