My good friends/neighbors recently celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary and this is the card I made for them. I used a 5x7" card base so that I could fit the die-cut heart and sentiment together, along with a die-cut sprig of leaves at the top. I used some retired SU! glittered paper and added all sorts of sparkly sequins, gems and embellishments into the shaker which I covered with tulle instead of acetate. I die-cut the number 40 and adhered that to the card front before adding all the shaker elements and covering it with the stitched heart die-cut shape. I added some Nuvo pink drops for a little sparkle, and added the Kat Scrappiness die-cut sentiment to finish this before hand delivering it. The sentiment die also comes with a shadow die but I couldn't fit it all onto this front panel even with the larger card base. It really does make a statement though, doesn't it?
I'll share this with the Shopping our Stash Challenge SOS505 - which is to "shake it up" - make a shaker card.
They loved this card by the way, so it was a winner!
Thanks for stopping by and I wish you a wonderful day full of fun craftiness!
Carol

ReplyDeleteGreat idea using tulle instead of acetate, it adds a very soft and delicate feel to the shaker! The little branch and the dots finish the card perfectly, well done!!
Today Autumn seems near us in my little part of the world, the sky is grey, it's raining and the temperature are more cold. But they say that next week will arrive a new weave of hot... We will see.
Have a lovely rest of the week, dear friend! Lots of love and hugs as usual!
