Another Sympathy Card

Unfortunately, I had to make another sympathy card for a friend who lost her oldest son. I used the Altenew Dahlia layering stencils to create this, using Squeezed Lemonade and Fossilized Amber Distress inks. The sentiment is from SU!'s Kindness and Compassion and it was heat-embossed with white ep on black. I added 3 tiny black gemstones to finish this and quickly got it in the mail this afternoon.

I'll share this with the May Stencil Fun challenge which is to use a stencil and this month's option is flowers.

Thanks for stopping by as always and I wish you a wonderful day.

*Has anyone else been getting lots of comments dumped in their spam folder on blogger? I've been keeping that folder empty for several months now since I first learned that it existed, but last week there were 45 more in there overnight, and then a dozen more a couple days later. Again just yesterday there were 78 comments in there! This morning I checked again and there were 9 in there and I just now checked again and there were 5 more. They range in date from 2009 - 2019 so I'm completely baffled as to why this is going on. I always return comments for those who visit and comment, so I apologize if it appears that I've ignored you at some point. I just have no clue where these comments have been stored all these years and much less why they didn't come to my blog to be published! If anyone knows, I'd appreciate your input!

Carol

Great stencil work on this lovely sympathy card. I understand that quite a lot of people have been getting comments arriving in the spam folder from way back but so far I've not discovered any explanation for why it is happening. I know I've had them but thankfully not on the scale that you've received. As far as I can see, all we can do is keep deleting them 🙄🙄. Sorry not to be of more help.

Such a beautiful card for a sad occasion, Carol. So sorry for your friend's loss. Love the stenciled background and your heat embossed sentiment on black cardstock just pops and brings it all together. I really love the flower background!! So pretty! I have been having issue's with the comments from years ago, too! Not sure why or what changed. Definitely a pain in the butt!

I guess I'm going to have to break down and get one of those layering stencils - this is stunning! WOW! I love the colors you used and it's just a perfect sympathy card. So lovely and I know your friend will appreciate it so much.

I don't think words can help someone who has lost a son but sending this beautiful card shows how much you care and she will pull it out later and remember your kindness. I'm off to check my spam folder. I still can't stay signed into my blog so I am no help when it comes to anything like this.

This is gorgeous, beautiful stenciling and message for your friend. I used to have the spam problem and then it stopped, off to check if it is happening again.

Hi Carol, sorry for your friend's loss, I think it's devastating. :( Your Sympathy card is very beautiful, love this layered stencil and the delicate colours you used.
I too have loads of comments to approve, the range is about 2016/2019. I check my comment spam folder daily and always find some comments to publish. But I think they were already published at their time... Perhaps is a bug of Blogger after the recent updates. However a lot of us are in the same situation.
Have a lovely day my friend, sending you big hugs across the miles as always!

A beautiful sympathy card, Carol.
Legit comments have been appearing in my spam box too, some from 10 years ago!

Hugs and blessings

This is a great stencil. I just saw this on a friend's card this week. My dear friend passed and this was the stencil she used on her last card. It is a wonderful stencil and perfect for so many occasions. Sending prayers for your friend's tremendous loss of her son.

I've debated about stencil & your card makes me want to get it! Absolutely beautiful card, but so sorry you needed it. Yes, Blogger seems to have gone crazy ever since the last update. I'm sure the old comments were published & it makes no sense that they've now been changed to spam by Blogger. If only they could identify the real spam, but guess that's asking too much--haha! Anyway, I just go ahead & republish all the legitimate comments...again.

Your card is lovely! I recently purchased my first laying stencil set, and I really enjoyed making cards with it. Hope to get some more.

So sorry you had to make this sympathy card for your friend! I will keep her in my prayers.

Wow, this stencil is just gorgeous, your card is just gorgeous Carol! I'm sorry you had to make another sympathy card and my heart goes out to this mother who lost her son. There are no words for the loss of a child. But hopefully this card will let her know that you care and are there for her. It certainly is a comforting sympathy card with a heartfelt sentiment.

I didn't even know we had a spam folder on our blogs Carol, must less check mine. I don't know what crazy things are happing on our blogs, but it is getting old. LOL For me it is the "dangerous website ahead" one for blogs I have visited for years. I wish I knew the deal or how to fix these issues but I'm just a dump bunny about these things and have absolutely no clue! Hugs, Brenda

PS ... yes I too have been having the 'comment' issue and figure it's just another behind the scenes Blogger thing so I just continue to keep an eye on my modification & spam comments.
