Anniversary Owls

Hello and welcome everyone! I was inspired to pull out my old SU! owl punch after seeing this Valentine card recently, so I found some snippets of black, white, yellow, red, green, and kraft, along with 2 tiny pieces of a sandy-colored designer paper and created these two lovey owls perched on some branches. I die-cut the stitched circle and stenciled it with T.E. cloud stencils and some Tumbled Glass Ink. The sentiment is by Tim Holtz and someone gave me a whole sheet of his sentiment stamps quite some time ago, and this is the first outing for that particular sentiment. I thought it was cute for an anniversary card, so the anniversary greeting is inside. That beautiful embossed card base was done with a SU! Tasteful Textiles ef, given to me by a very generous friend. I thought the SSS Audrey Blue cardstock made a good color base for this card.

Here's a closer view to show that beautiful embossing and the Wink of Stella I put on those tiny red hearts for a little sparkle! You can also see the subtle pattern on their little "suits."

I'm going to share this with the following challenges:

The NBUS Challenge #47 - Never Before Used Schtuff - (ef, sentiment)

Allsorts Week #716 - A/G  with an option of "Wings"

Critter Crazy Challenge #71 - A/G using a featured critter

Thanks for stopping by and I wish each and every one of you a wonderful day! I'm grateful for the sunshine here today, even if it is on the chilly side!
Carol

Oh Carol, this is simply ADORABLE!! Such fabulous design with your snippets and the wonderful texture on the back panel! I remember you used that owl punch a lot in the past and I'm happy you pulled out it again as you made a couple of so cute owls! Love so much the details of the patterned paper on the "suites" and the sparkling hearts! The soft clouds on the stitched circle and the leaves on the branch look so well too! And the sentiment on the banner is perfect to compliment your anniversary card! This card is a winner one, I'm sure! :)
I'm happy you have a bit of sun, finally! Hope there are again sunny days ahead and sending you my sweet thoughts, hugs and love on your way, dear friend!

This is a cute idea for an anniversary card since they will owlways love each other. That is a pretty embossed background and great color of aqua.

OMGoodness, what an adorable anniversary card Carol! I haven't played with my owl punch but only once and then I didn't use the owls on a card yet. Shame on me as they are just the cutest and you can do so much with them. I love the colors you have use on this card, that card base is gorgeous with the color and the embossing. I love the pattern on their "vests" as well as that awesome sky background. So cute! Yep, I was happy to see the sun too, just was darn chilly willy out! LOL Hugs, Brenda

How truly delightful this is Carol! The card that inspired you also made me feel it's time for the SU owl punch to come out and play once again - but my word, yours is such a stunning card! I may give up the idea for now!
