Thinking of You

I have quite a few half-used paper packs of retired SU! papers from the days when I used to be a demo, and I tend to hoard my favorites, like this Haiku dsp. I'm trying to finally use these pretty papers because they're not doing anyone any good sitting on a shelf. I took random strips of the left-over snippets and cut them all to a certain width, then placed them together side by side. Once adhered, I was able to cut them crosswise into strips and stagger the patterns to come up with this design. I used a MFT stitched circle die for the main panel and adhered it to an Anna Griffin embossed background. I used another strip to balance things out along the bottom. I added a stitched tag with a Teeny Tiny Wishes stamped sentiment, an orange gemstone, and a piece of neutral twine tied into a bow. I really liked how this turned out so I made a 2nd card.

For this one I used some Gina Marie Designs Venetian Label dies to create the panels, and added a GinaK stamped sentiment along with a few orange and green gemstones. I'm a girl who loves purple, but the colors in this paper pack just sing to me for some reason. I feel better knowing I've used up some more of those hoarded snippets and actually made cards with them!

I'll share the first card with the Snippets Playground #422

and I'll share the 2nd card with the Allsorts Challenge week 664 - "I Love..."
(I love this designer paper)

Thanks for spend a little part of your day with me and I wish you all a great week ahead!

Carol

Great snippets challenge card and good to share the lovely papers with others rather than leaving them unused and unseen. We're great hoarders I fear!!

Such beautiful papers you have hoarded for ages! :D I'm glad you have had the courage to use them LOL :D Both the cards are so elegant and the colours speak about peace and sweetness! Love so much your technique, you are always so good in making patterns with strips! The circle with the cute tag looks great on the embossed background and love the layered shapes on the second card. Very well done!
Sending hugs, love and best wishes for a sweet week!

These are fab and the papers are so pretty. What amazes me is your precise measurements, I'm absolutely too naughty to even consider measuring anything so I find myself just gazing at all the perfect little squares!

These are two works of art and I love both equally x

I've said it before and I will keep saying it, "you are the queen of snippets Carol!" You always amaze me with what you can do with snippets of paper. Your cards are just gorgeous! I love that paper and love the patter you created with this paper! Beautiful colors that work well for autumn or summer, beautiful patterns, but beautiful! Love your snippet creations on this Ann Griffin embossed card base. I think these have to be my favorites cards you have ever made! Well....until next time. lol Hugs, Brenda

There is so much to like on this card. The AG embossing folder is so pretty and new to me. I see why you saved that paper, it is awesome. The label is an unusual shape too. The colors are beautiful.

You are the queen of using snippets! I thought of you last week when I made an Easter card using some negative pieces from a die cut panel! The design papers are lovely as is the design! You made two wonderful cards! I’m always impressed by your creativity!

Hi Carol

LOVE LOVE LOVE these two cards. Such good use of your hoarded paper snippets! Great embossed background to show off the colourful papers.

Find yourself a comfy chair up in the Treehouse and have an extra slice of cake with your coffee for all that effort! xxx

Very cleverly done. I thought at first you had woven strips of paper and then die cut the shape. It is very effective and as with all SU products, the colours go together perfectly. I like both cards. You have inspired me to have a go with some of my left-overs. Kate P.
