Christmas Cards

Many years ago I was the lucky winner of a great scrapbooking kit full of fun papers from Bella Boulevard. They sat in my stash for quite some time since I no longer make scrapbooks. I decided to pull them out and make some Christmas cards after seeing this fun tutorial over on CARDS TV.
I altered the square into a diamond placement but I'm happy with how they turned out. This design was a great way to use up those papers. I added some tiny red gemstones on one, and green ones on the other.

This is what the inside looks like when the card is opened. The colors are non-traditional but they're fun. The little tree in the center was cut from one of the sheets of paper in the kit.

I will enter these into the CARDS TV ANYTHING GOES CHALLENGE #154

Here's another design I made using the same tutorial for the main image panel but making a standard A2 card with it. I used stitched squares to die cut the image panel and mat, adding 2 plastic snowflakes with a silver brad to the center. The sentiment needed some color to break up all the white, so I took a thin strip of matching dsp, cut it in half, and placed it on that panel. The background was done with a retired SU! snowburst ef.

This was made like the card above, only I used a SB poinsettia set of dies to create the flower from pastel green cardstock, adding highlights to the edges with a Copic marker, and a sparkly gem to the center. This embossing folder is (r) from SU! and I think it's called Petals A' Plenty .

For the last card, I found this "I Love Santa" topper in the set and thought it would make a cute card with a gnome. I used a SSS gnome die for this, adding some stenciled pink hearts with a Heidi Swapp stencil and covered his beard with clear Wink of Stella for some subtle shimmer.

It feels good to finally use that scrapbook kit after hanging onto it for so long! I'm finding that everything old is new again as I go through my stash trying to purge.

Thanks for stopping by and do have a great weekend!

Carol

You've been busy, the top cards remind me of the old tea bag folding technique, blimey I remember when that was all the rage lol. I love the bright colours and that poinsettia in green, very nice!

Oh look at the gnome with that super cute sentiment, paired beautifully together and so sweet... my favourite ๐Ÿ˜ x

Festively fantastic cards. I so adore that you added wee strips of patterned paper to the sentiment piece on the second to last greeting shown here.

That is such a clever, wonderful idea and way to use up even the smallest scraps of paper that so many of us lovingly hold onto in our stashes.
