My SIL and BIL have an anniversary coming up soon, so I made this card for them. After watching a recent video by Jennifer McGuire I had to try my hand at making a card using her technique. I started with a panel of gorgeous grape cardstock, and used a (r) SU! ef to emboss large roses onto it, then swiped it with a white craft ink pad. I die-cut an oval from a panel of white, then embossed that with an Anna Griffin ef and placed it on top. The floral image was a sample from STAMPlorations that was colored with Copics and then clear embossed to bring the colors to a deeper level. I placed it partially in the window and added the sentiment to the top; and finally added some lavendar Nuvo drops here and there for a little sparkle.
I'll share this with these challenges:
The Flower Challenge #54 color - shades of purple
Cute Card Thursday Challenge #667 - celebrate
Just Us Girls #575 Trend Week - use an embossing folder
Thanks for stopping by and do have yourself a fantastic weekend! I'm going to lose an hour's sleep tonight when the clocks get turned back, but I'll be grateful for the extra hour of daylight that will come in the evenings.
Take care - kindness matters!
Carol

This is a lovely anniversary card. Jennifer has taught me so many things and she never disappoints. Wish I had all those ideas in my head.
Such a beautiful card made with lots of heart! Love everything about this especially the embossed white cardbase! Your flowers are colored beautifully and in your favorite colors as well! Your BIL & SIL are going to love this! Well done, Carol! Enjoy this nice sunny day, although a bit cooler....I will still take it over snow! Hugs~

OH yes that video was great with so many samples but your card is GORGEOUS! I love the vibrancy of the purple and the embossing is just lovely - beautifully done! xx
Wow! Amazing, elegant and sweet! The best to celebrate an anniversary, surely your SIL and BIL will treasure it! Lovely colours combo! Love so much your colouring on the beautiful roses and the two different embossed panels! I will watch Jennifer's video when I will have a bit of time, it's a clever technique, thanks so much!
We will have again the legal hour at 28 March, so we will put the clock an hour after. Government decides also when we have to stand up from the bed LOL :D
Stay strong, take care and enjoy your days! Big hugs across the miles!
I like the inked embossed background, very inspirational and definitely worth a try. You've achieved a very tactile card that's so pretty with the flower cluster. Surprisingly I rather like the lime green paired with that pesky purple ;) lol x
Wow, this is a stunning card Carol! I love all the embossing but I really am loving the die cut flowers that you have colored with your Copics. It is stunning and makes for a stunning anniversary card that I know your SIL & BIL will cherish! Don't know about you, but I want those beautiful warmish days back! lol Rain with some snow mix for tomorrow, hopefully just rain, eh?! Hugs, Brenda

What a gorgeous card, Carol. The embossing rubbed with ink make a great background and the embossed frame is a great place to tuck in that beautiful bouquet. Thanks for sharing your card with us at Just Us Girls.
