Here's my first Valentine card for the new year. I'm over the Christmas and New Year's Day holidays and ready to move onto some love cards.
First of all, I apologize for the poor quality of the photo - we've had no sun for 2 days and it's the best I could come up with.
As I slowly purge my stash to de-clutter this craft room, I'm discovering things I haven't used in years that I just loved when I first bought them.
This card started with an embossed panel of Pacific Point that I'd made months (perhaps years) ago and never used. I matted it with red, and found an old SU! valentine greeting that was designed to work with their small and large tag punches. Yes, I still have those punches! I colored the tag with markers, then added another SU! image to the bottom and colored that with markers too. I used aqua & white twine to make a little bow on the tag since I am out of red & white twine. For a little sparkle, I added 3 shiny little heart stickers on the embossed background.
I used the following sketch to make my card...
so I will enter this card into the What If? Wednesday sketch challenge #D3020 over at Repeat Impressions.
Thanks for stopping by and I wish everyone a great week ahead as this new year unfolds!
Carol

Lovely card Carol, looks great in red, white and blue. Trying to tidy my craft room this week, I'm discovering lots of things I's forgotten about. xx
Striking card, I like your red and blue color combination! Glad you joined us at The House That Stamps Built!
Beautiful Valentines. Great colors.
Lovely post and great colours, love this idea. xxx
A beautiful sweet Valentine card! Awesome embossed background! Pretty colors, too! It’s always fun to go through supplies and find things that you haven’t used for a long time. I just did that today with Christmas decorations. Hubby was surprised and happy, lol!
A Beautiful card Carol, love the embossing folder with the blue and red, makes a wonderful combination and design. Isn't it funny how we forget, so easily, our favourite crafty stuff, great to pull them out and play with them again and find we still love them.

I love this shade of blue and it made a gorgeous Valentine. I have all my punches too and still use them. I've been seeing Valentines and thought I wasn't ready to start making them but I'm starting to come around. You turn the calendar page and there it is! I think your card will kick start me!
How awesome that you're on to making Valentine cards. This one is lovely and the colors wonderfully combined. Love the blue with the 'valentine reds'. How you have time to make cards (not to mention the motivation!) with all you have going on, amazes and impresses me. Always love to see your cards, but I'm trying to get back into commenting. Also loved all the little gnomes I saw in your posts too! Happy New Year, hope it's healthier for both of you, and Hugs & Prayers coming your way. Mary H.
Very pretty Valentine card - love the embossing as well as the colors. Love the CAS cards and you did a great job with the sketch. Thanks for joining us over at The House that Stamps Built.
Well now that's a fun embossing folder and is spot on for a bit of love. I think because its on blue it seems to pop a lot more and the addition of the red hearts is sweet and brings the sparkle to a super Valentine's Day card x
Carol this is so sweet! I love the colors! Great take on the sketch - now you are one card ahead of the game! Hugs! xx
What a beautiful Valentine's design here Carole! Love the embossed hears and your colors are fantastic!! Yes, let's move on to a great New Year my friend! I look forward to seeing your inspiration! HUGS
You are ahead of the game with a Valentine card Carol, I love it! I still have those tag punches too, lol. Now I need to get them out and use them myself! I love the way this card came out. The blue embossing is so pretty with the red. Kinda like a patriotic Valentine! Love your little layered tag too, it is perfect up there in the corner. The "xoxo" is so cute too at the bottom. Happy New Year my friend, let's hope it is a much better one! Hugs, Brenda
Wonderful card, Carol! I'm trying to purge my craft room...but I don't seem to be making much progress!

Oh, this is so pretty, Carol! Love that EF and along with your tag punches! I still have both those Tag Punches that i'm sure are covered in dust! Thanks for the inspiration....I need to pull them out & use! Hope all is well with you & Butch! Happy New Year, my friend! WTG on getting a jump start on Valentines!
I hate purge my stash. Anything I find makes immediately me think that I could use it, and gives me new ideas, so I can't trash nothing!! :/ :D LOL I need only more time. Perhaps with a future (when?) retirement I will created more and more.
You found some pretty things, as that beautiful EF and also the tag set, wow! :D A lovely card and the tiny hearts are so cute details!!
Here is raining by the midnight of 31 December. It's very cold and Italy seems no more Italy (for a lot of reasons).
Hugs my friend, hope that all is going well for you!
