I've Been Busy!

Last Thursday an unexpected surprise package came from a thoughtful and very generous friend that included the Lawn Fawn tiny box set of dies along with a good book to read! I was so anxious to sit down and play with the dies the following day, and shortly after I began cutting, the phone rang. It was a long-time friend of mine calling to ask if I might possibly have time to make some cards for nursing home residents, as their church was preparing to do the same. I'm a bit short on envelopes for the time being,  so I asked if I could make some little boxes with folded up notes inside (funny how ideas pop up like that) and she said that sounded great, so over the weekend I made 32 boxes. She said she needed them for Monday so I had to work quickly because she's picking them up later today! I printed out encouraging sentiments, stamped images and sentiments and personally added hand-written notes of my own in each one. It was a great way to use lots of those die-cut snippets I've had in my stash, so it was an anything goes sort of thing. I added dogs, cats, sailboats, flowers and also made tiny bows, hearts and circles from the dies that came with the box. Hopefully there's a little something for everyone whether it's male or female.

Here's a close up of a few. I added Nuvo drops of assorted colors to the flower centers.

Here's the little bow made with the die included with the set. It's a bit fiddly to make, but so worth it once it's done!

I'm sharing these with the NBUS challenge #13 because it's the first time I used these box and accessory dies. I am finally feeling like a useful human being again after making these and hopefully the residents will enjoy opening a little box of cheer instead of an ordinary card for a change.

Take care and have a great week ahead and keep smiling if you can :)

Carol

These are a great idea and rather adorable, I also think they'd hold some chocolate or is that my wishful thinking and... they'd make a great alternative for a Christmas Advent calendar. I like the one with the bow, it's cute and red... my favourite colour :) I'm so glad you've felt more useful, long may that elated feeling last x

I am sitting here with my jaw on my chest, Carol! Not only are you an incredibly caring human being, your talent and productivity and determination know no bounds! What a work horse you. Each and every one received sweet attention to detail and I love that you took more time to add a personal note inside. Just think, you have no idea how much this will positively impact someone's whole state of mind and disposition during these difficult times. Bless you!!! Hugs, Darnell
