Bring on the Gnomes

Today I have a fun Christmas card to share with you. I made a mosaic background with some leftover SU! dsp snippets and gold embossing powder. I love making these backgrounds, but then I covered most of it up with the large stamped image and you can't see much of it ........sigh.

To make the background, I ran a piece of card stock through my older Zyron machine, which completely coats it with adhesive. Next I cut the little pieces of coordinating card stock into random shapes and sizes, laying them down in no certain order, leaving spaces between each piece. After the card was filled with snippets, I sprinkled it all over with gold embossing powder and heat set it which creates this fun mosaic background.

The Brutus Monroe image was colored with Copics and I added liquid adhesive to their hats and glossy accents to their noses. The sentiment was gold embossed and cut with a Sweet 'n Sassy ticket die.

I'm entering this into the following challenges:

February Rudolph Days challenge - Christmas anything goes

Thanks for stopping by and have a good day!

Looking fabulous Carol, the background and your description gives a good idea or what you did. The Zyron machine is fabulous, have a small one but not used it for ages. Great Christmas colours.x

Lots of snippets for that background and it came out beautiful! Love the little gnomes. Colored to perfection and a perfect card for Christmas. I still haven't gotten any of the gnome stamps...this one is great.

Crazy paving on a little scale for cards... genius Carol, gosh the possibilities for this kind of card are endless, never would have thought to do this technique. Gnomes are so on trend and these look super all coloured traditionally with a bespoke sentiment x

Your mosaic background is WONDERFUL, I have to try this technique for the big box of my tiny tiny scraps! :) I too tend to cover too much my handmade backgrounds, perhaps they need a "personalized" design :D but your is just perfect with those fun gnomes! Great details!
