Looking Back in Time

I don't often do vintage cards because I struggle with them, but I pulled out some long-hoarded "distressables"papers by Tim Holtz and cut some elements out to put this card together. You can see bits of the 1914 report card along with the old school photo and box of crayons cut from one sheet of the paper. The old-fashioned phone was done on a piece of Tim Holtz paper from the "shabby chic" paper pad with a Studio Calico stamp set and die cut with a MFT stitched circle die. The sentiment is from the same set and was stamped on a snippet of the reverse side of the photo paper. I added a few enamel dots from SU! in 2 different colors. I'm not sure if I want to make this a birthday or a retirement card, so I'll put the sentiment inside when I get ready to use it.

Thanks for stopping by and make it a great day whatever you do!

Carol

Perfect vintage design and goes so well with the challenge theme. I guess I could have photographed a lot of my old vintage things I had laying around from my childhood too. LOL Never thought of that. Hate to admit I am VINTAGE! Yikes!

I don't do well with vintage either but Carol, you rocked this challenge! I love looking at all the pictures on this card, especially that telephone! Kids today don't even know what the old phones are! Wonderful job! :)

Oh this is perfect, I see no struggle here! Love your collagey papers and the wonky placement--fab choices! That old phone is a great image too! Thanks so much for playing along with us at The Double D Blog, Looking Back In Time Challenge, Donna, DT Member.

What a wonderful group of vintage things. Unfortunately, I remember most of them from my childhood! Especially the typewriter, bike and the phone on the bottom right. Phones were so heavy back then. You did a fantastic job on this card.
