Guest Designing for Twofer #11

After playing a previous Twofer challenge and being named a winner, I'm proud and delighted to be guest designing for the Twofer #11 challenge this month, and the keyword is "wreath." You are to make 2 different cards with 2 different designs while using the same stamps, dies, or stencils to create your interpretation of a wreath.

I've made a Christmas card and a get-well card.

My immediate reaction was to start by making a Christmas card. I started with some traditional colors of red and green and added a piece of SU! woodgrain dsp for the background. The wreath was created with a Poppy Shasta Twigs die and dotted with red liquid pearls for berries. I added a double twine bow, and found the Kaisercraft die-cut sentiment in my doo-dad box - already layered with neutral and red colors and ready to be used.

For this get-well card, I made another wreath from kraft card stock with the Shasta twig die. I used autumn colors of very vanilla, early espresso, and pumpkin pie. The card base is kraft, while the embossed vanilla background was done with a Darice "Fall Leaf Background" embossing folder. The horizontal panel is a snippet of dsp that's printed with colorful autumn leaves, and I added a stitched die-cut banner (Li'l Inker) with a Sweet'n Sassy stamps sentiment. Next I added a stamped and fussy-cut SNSS flower that was enhanced with Copics to add a little depth to the color. The flower center was dotted with gold Stickles, and I also dotted the branches of the wreath with stickles for some subtle sparkle. The espresso panel was cut with a MFT fishtail banner die and the 3 tiny leaves were done with an EK border punch I've had for years.

I hope you find time to come play along with this challenge and be sure to visit -The Twofer Challenge #11 challenge blog to see all the inspiration from the design team! Darnell and these ladies make the most awesome cards and surely one of them will inspire you to play along with us! You have 2 weeks to join in, so come have fun with us!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great "Twofer" kind of day :)

THese are both so pretty, Carol! I don't think I've ever played with this challenge, but I am trying to make two cards each time I sit down to craft, so maybe I'll have to give it a go!

That twig die is so useful, I have two different of them, but very neglected. Thanks for sharing your ideas! The Christmas one is adorable with the twine and the berries on the faux wood paper and the autumnal have a fab look with that big flower and its sparkling centre! Well done!
Have a lovely weekend!

Oh how lovely!!! The Christmas card is so pretty with the delicate pine needles and I love your layered sentiment. The fall card is so clever with the pine needles in kraft behind that orange flower. Beautiful cards!

Carol, How fun to see your lovely wreath cards today in the Twofer post! Congrats again on your GDT honor. It's really wonderful to be sharing guesting duties with an OWH-buddy... from whom I learned so much about card making. :)

Your wreaths are so deliciously dimensional and texture-y, Carol ... and gorgeous! Love the Christmassy one in traditional colours, against the woodgrain 'front door' ... what skill adding those tiny red pearl berries to a non flat surface!! Your autumn wreath is warm and cosy with the kraft, vanilla and oranges ... the texture in the background really adds to the sense of depth you created ... and the touch of shimmer in the flower is fabulous! Thanks so much for inspiring our players as our Guest Designer at Twofer! Anita :)

You created two fabulous designs, Carol! That festive green wreath with the red berries and bow on the gorgeous woodgrain paper is perfect for the holiday season! And the get well card in pretty fall colors looks stunning with the dry embossed background! Lots of great dimension on your Twofer!
It's wonderful to have you guest designing!

Both of your cards are gorgeous, Carol! I am amazed at how you arranged your twigs in such a way to make the wreath shapes so different, and yet both so full and perfect! Your Christmas wreath with the double bow and double colored sentiment is wonderful on that wood grain paper. Your fall wreath is so striking on the dark banner and so well balanced by each of the other elements on your card. Thank you so much for guest designing for the Twofer Card Challenge!
