Harvest Twofer

It's time for the 10th Twofer challenge and this month the keyword is "harvest." A lot of things come to mind when I think of that word, but for my cards I chose a wheat bundle stamp by Rubbernecker which reminds me of the harvest season.

Here are my cards along with a portion of my dining room chair LOL

I made a birthday card by stamping the image on chocolate and embossing with gold. I placed it on a vanilla card base along with a piece of burlap. I pulled a couple pieces of the burlap from the edges and tied them around the wheat bundle and added a birthday sentiment panel along with a neutral gemstone. I used a Lil Inker stitched rectangle die for the card base, a Gina Marie Designs stitched oval die for the image panel, and a Lil Inker stitched banner die for the sentiment panel

For my second card, I stamped the wheat bundle on kraft to make a frame. adding gold paint pen to the wheat which the camera didn't pick up at all. I die-cut the sentiment with an Elizabeth Crafts die and some black and copper-colored mirror cardstock and layered them up,  then added the SU! punched black cat to the bottom. I put it all on a cajun craze card base.

That's going to do it for me today, but thanks for stopping by and I wish you a wonderful weekend as Autumn makes it's way into our neck of the woods.

Great Twofer! I see you finally won the battle of the cat punch! very pretty wheat stamp. I pick them up whenever I see them, since I am so fond of them. Sheaf's of wheat were the centerpieces for my DD wedding, and as their anniversary is in 2 days, it was fitting for the season! I wish I could see what the camera didn't.

Both cards definitely have a Fall feel to them! Love the first one with the wheat stalks embossed in gold and the burlap under it! And you know I love all the stitching on the panels, too! Makes for a lovely Fall birthday card, Carol! The cat card is adorable as I love the design and those wheat stalks! Very pretty Thinking of You card! Great job on both! TFS and hope your enjoying this much cooler weather. I am almost needing the heat turned on this morning...burr! LOL

These are great, Carol. I love the embossed wheat and the clever use of it on your cat card. The copper thinking of you is beautiful. Same thing here, AC on Tuesday and heat on Thursday!

Two really great 2fers. I love the embossed wheat stack, and that one is very elegant. But I really liked your clever idea to use this image as framing around the kitty card. I can never think 'out of the box' like this! Both are wonderful harvest cards. TFS

Wonderful Twofer, Carol! After cleaning up the drool from thinking about chocolate and vanilla, I was able to concentrate on that gorgeous golden wheat and fabulous burlap on your birthday card! I love how you stamped a frame with your wheat, and that copper is just so warm and beautiful! Thanks for joining in the fun with us at the Twofer Card Challenge!

Love your cards, Carol. The burlap goes perfectly with the beautiful image, gives it a lovely rustic look. Very clever to use the same stamp to frame your second card. xx

These are stunning, Carol! I love how rustic your birthday card is with the stitching, embossing, and use of burlap for a panel and as a tie for the wheat! The sediment flag is perfect! And how cool your wheat grass looks stamped as a frame on your thinking of you card! Great idea to add the gold pen, which we can imagine and the sweet puss and stacked sediment give it lots of additional interest!! Thank you so much for playing in Twofer Card Challenge #10! That's such a delicate and detailed wheat image, Carol ... and you've showcased it beautifully on both cards! There's a wonderfully textured and organic feel to your Happy Birthday design, it's positively touchable ... and what a wonderful frame the wheat makes for the silhouette cat, it looks warm and cosy against the kraft! Thanks so much for playing along with us at Twofer! Anita :)
