Here's my entry for this month's Twofer Card Challenge #7. The keyword this time around is beverage.
I made a 21st birthday card with a mug of beer, but I have no real rhyme or reason why I made a 2nd card and stuck a dog inside of that mug? My mind works in mysterious ways sometimes and I have no real explanation?! LOL
I stamped and colored the Repeat Impressions beer mug image and colored it with Copics, then embossed the whole thing with clear ep, fussy-cutting it and adding a slit at the top of the mug to insert the dog. The dog is one of Tim Holtz's crazy dogs and I fussy cut him and slid him right down into the mug. The embossing was done with a TH sizzix bubble wrap ef, and the card base is Cool Caribbean. The sentiment is by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps and was cut with a MFT fishtail flag banner. The twine is by SU!
This birthday card was made for someone turning 21. I used the same Repeat Impressions stamped image, adding the foam at the top with another Repeat Impressions stamp. I added some liquid applique along with some yellow stickles to make the foam on top of the beer. The numbers were cut with Impression Obsession dies from a snippet of Taken with Teal and some black, and layered for a little dimension. The medallions were cut with Daffodil and a MFT stitched circle die, as well as a scalloped circle cut with a SB die and some SU! dsp. I dotted the scallops with a black marker and used another piece of SU! dsp to place under the image. I sorted through my little pill container of negative bits left over from die cutting borders and adhered them randomly on the card.
Here's what the inside looks like...
The image is by Repeat Impressions and what you see is duck behinds. The birthday sentiment is by Tim Holtz, and the Bottoms Up was done with a box of those $1 stick stamps. I added 2 more pieces of SU! dsp to the bottom and called this one done.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you are enjoying a wonderful summer day whatever you're doing. Keep smiling :)
EDIT: As I posted this over on the twofer challenge, I realized the card posted just before mine used the same image! LOL I had not seen her post, so it cracked me up that we both went for the beer mug! Maybe it's just this hot weather? LOL

Fabulous! Somehow, the little dog looks like he belongs in the mug. Too cute and fun - and two great cards. Love the little ducks behinds too.

Ah, such cool cards!! :D They are both wonderful and fun! The one with the TH dog is just stunning and very creative! Love the way you put the dog inside the beer mug :D and that embossing looks gorgeous, it seemed to me a stencilled texture paste. Fabulous matching sentiment, too!!
The birthday one looks so impressive too, with that "beer fooam" and the big number! Very well done wit hDarnel's theme!
Hugs!
Wow! These are really awesome Carol!! I absolutely ADORE that pup in the mug! Like a "pup in a cup" sort of thing!! LOL! It made me smile and I'm sure it will do the same for whoever gets it! The 21 card with that mug is amazing and full of wonderful dimension too! These are ALL really fabulous cards! Thanks for sharing my friend! HUGS
Saw Verna had used this mug image for her 2fer, and it's amazing the different looks each of you have achieved with this great mug stamp! Love that Crazy Dog popping out of the mug with the sentiment. Very clever, and sure to bring a smile to somebody who had a bad day. The bubbles embossing background was a cute detail too. The liquid applique frothing on #2 was also very clever to add some foam to the top of this icy mug and what a great card to celebrate the big 21. But what really made me smile very large, was the inside design! Only you would have saved those little bits and didn't they work just perfectly to add more fun to this card! Good JOB! TFS & Hugs
Well I am so glad we did use the same images. You took the beer mug and went a completely different direction and I love both ways you used it. I bought that set a long time ago and had only used it a couple times so I thought it was a good time to bring it out. I love the dog in your mug..he is a cutie! And, I love the way your froth turned out too on the second one. That is a great card for a 21st birthday. So my friend, this Bud's for You! Great minds think alike I guess. LOL
Goodness, love the crazy dog in the jug of beer, how awesome is this idea...great cards and great froth on that beer..[or should I say 'head'] have a great weekend.
Amazing! Just amazing...(How your mind works...smile!) Not mention how creative and clever you are! Great job with the challenge!

That is a fantastic Two-fer if ever I saw one. Perfect cards for this "Mug-gy" weather! Brilliant putting the pooch in the mug, and there are just no words for the darling duck tushes! WTG!
Two fabulous ways to use this mug, Carol! Love that foam and the inside is priceless! A perfect card for a 21st birthday! That pup is bound to make someone smile and feel better!
Two brilliant cards Carol, such a great idea. They are both fabulous but I especially like the first one with the dog, he looks so grumpy.

Sorry I am just now seeing these fabulous cards! It's been a busy last few days but I wanted to comment and say that your mind is amazing and the idea's you come up with are brilliant, Carol! Love the beer card as well as the dog in the mug! Oh and lastly the ducks butts up in the air...OMG I am cracking up over that one! Bottom's Up, eh? Too funny! TFS and stay cool, my friend! :)
I'm sure we'll see a lot more beer mugs and repeated wine and champagne glasses, too, before the challenge is over! I love it, because, basically you girls have shown how to get a FOURfer out of one stamp and if that isn't inspiration for stretching your stamps, I don't know what is! Good job!
As I told Verna, the Mister would love your icy cold beer with a great head of foam! A sensational design for a 21 year-old and so fun on the inside, too! As far as putting a funny dog inside the mug for a cheer-up card? Well, what could be better for bringing a smile! Too clever! And why the twine know around it? Who knows, but it is very effective ... you have a great eye for design, Carol! Thank you for playing in Twofer Card Challenge #7! Hugs, Darnell
I've always wanted a margarita big enough to swim in, so your pup in the cup makes perfect sense to me! Such a fun and clever card, Carol. And you're 21st BD card is fun too. Such a great size for that mug, and the foam you've created is fantastic!! Great inside image and sentiment, too. Thanks so much for joining us at the Twofer Challenge. Bev
