Mahalo

Today I have a thank-you card made for Mrs A's Butterfly challenge #102. This time around the wheel landed on the letter V, so here's what the challenge consists of:

I managed to use everything on the wheel except "vintage."
I water colored a panel with vintage violet, salty ocean and raspberry Distress inks and die-cut the butterfly from that water colored piece, trying to make the violet the center portion. The closest color to Vermilion I could come to was Melon Mambo, so I lined the butterfly die with that color. I added a snippet of gold cardstock to the back of the black panel which was die-cut with a  Poppystamps Tulisa corner die, and added some green vines that were in my stash. The sentiment is from Lawn Fawn and was a free gift with an order. For the final touch, I added some violet gemstones to the center of the butterfly.
(A sweet friend of mine recently gave me this butterfly die, and I just love it!)

Thanks for checking in with me on this Monday and I wish you all a perfect start to the week!

Carol

Wowsers! I'm not sure I'd even understand the rules now in the BUtterfly challenge, it's been so long since I played. This is a great look, with all the colors, layers and I love that cut out portion with the traililng green leaves. That's a pretty butterfly die too, and the pearlescent violet overlay looks smashing with the deep rich color behind it. Looks to me like you've nailed the requirements with this nifty card. (imagine having that special sentiment stamp! Boy you've got a good stash). Happy upcoming week. TFS & Hugs

Wow, you did a great job in getting a lot of "V's" on your card! And what a stunning card it is. I love that butterfly and your watercolor on it. The vine is beautiful along with that cut out and the yellow showing through. Great color choices! Hugs, Brenda
