I've had a paper pad for years that I was never quite certain what to do with, so I pulled a piece from it and stamped this SU! Country Livin' image on it just to see how it would turn out. I colored the truck with Copics to look old and faded and stamped a willow tree to the left of it with Versamark and then Versa color sand to create just a shadow of a tree. If you click the photo to enlarge it, that tree becomes a bit more visible. I sponged the edges with 2 distress inks and then distressed the edges to give it an overall aged look. I searched through my cardstock and found a very old faded sheet of Rose Red that perfectly matched the truck, so I added a strip of burlap for a rustic border, and added a Repeat Impressions sentiment to call this one done.
I'm sharing this with the following challenges:
Repeat Impressions RI J2718 - anything goes
Pinspirational challenge #218 - use this inspirational photo
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great Friday! Here in PA there's a heat wave rolling through for the coming week, so I hope to be indoors stamping away and keeping my fingers crossed that our a/c unit holds up through it all!

What a cool card, Carol! Love, love, love this with that old truck and the burlap just gives it that old vintage feel! And WOW, Rose Red....don't think I have touched that color in quite awhile! You colored this perfectly to match the cardstock and I like that you stamped your image on a piece of patterned paper! Any guy who receives this one will cherish it! GREAT card! TFS and let's hope all our AC's hold up through this heatwave! Stay cool! :)
A really great stamp for that challenge. The colors of the mat look just right - good to know that there is a reason to keep the cardstock that may have accidentally faded! I like all the distressing around the edge, too.
Oh wow I just love this truck image! Very cool design and the papers went perfectly with this image! Great idea to add the strip of burlap too! Great take on the inspirational photo! Hope you are able to stay cool through the heat my friend! HUGS
Oh, Carol, you coloured that truck so well, wow!! This masculine card has a lovely vintage/rustic feel with that stripe of burlap and the distressed edges!!! Also the DP you used for stamping the truck and the "shade of tree" :) looks just perfect! The sentiment is just the best for this card, it's vintage and masculine at the right point! :D
Hugs, have a lovely weekend!
You've done a wonderful interpretation of the photo and achieved just the right 'olde worlde' effect.
A super card Carol, a fabulous vintage feel and perfect masculine design.
Have a lovely weekend.

Great job, going out of your comfort zone with that paper! It stamped and colored perfectly! I am feeling like that old worn truck, in this heat! LOL.
Fab job with the inspirational photo, your card is a delightful representation. The burlap adds interest to that darling truck and the distressed edges really help capture the vintage feeling. Super sweet card Carol x

I'm glad you found some use for one sheet of the paper and I know you will find other uses for the rest too. That truck image is awesome, I love it and I love your card design.
