I treated myself to an embossing folder (Hobby Solution - "Holly") that I found at my local craft store recently which put me in the mood to make Christmas cards. I embossed the vanilla panel and liked how it looked all by itself, but I decided to add more - it's just how I roll I suppose. I love CAS designs, but have this impulse to add more and more until the CAS disappears LOL Anyway, I pulled out a very old Zig marker in a pretty green shade and colored in all those holly leaves that were embossed. I did the swirlies with a gold pen and added red Xmas stickles for the berries. I colored the inside of the leaves with a darker green Copic marker. The Merry Christmas sentiment is by Kaisercraft and I cut it twice, layering one on top of the other and after stamping it all over with Versamark ink, I heat-embossed it with gold ep and called this card done. I like the overall look - but I wish the gold pen was a better match to the gold used on the sentiment. The photo makes it look more "off" than it is IRL, but at least I added another card to my Christmas stash.
I'm going to share this with Craftyhazelnut's CHNC #389 Christmas challenge - anything goes as long as it's Christmas with an option of winter fun.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend whatever you do!

I would have added the color, also. Love how this came out, Carol! Very cool folder. Love the sparkle!
I understand so well your impulse of "adding and adding more" to the CAS cards!!! LOL :D :D ... But you have done a fab work here my friend!! The CAS hasn't disappeared!! :D Great colouring onto the embossing, very accurate! And the glittered berries look great with the gold! Well done!
A fabulous Christmas card Carol, lovely embossed holly and great embossed sentiment.

What a pretty embossing folder. I had not heard of that brand before. I like all the additions, personally. CAS is fun, but if something else is more fun for you, go for it!
What a pretty card and embossing folder Carol! I love the coloring you did, makes it really pop. I'm sure it looked good not colored as well. That's what I love about embossing folders, you can change them up just by coloring a little bit. This card is still CAS to me! Hugs, Brenda
That's a beautiful embossing folder you used! It's so pretty and I can see why it'll be great to use either colored or not. I DO love that you colored it though and it just shines now. Beautiful card for the holidays.

I love the color you added to the embossing folder. Whenever I try that though I really make a mess of it as I tend to go off the edge of the raised design and then it looks yucky! But the way you did it is just so gorgeous. You have a wonderful Christmas card for future use now.
Lovely embossing folder. The colours sure enhance the beauty of it.
So pretty, and it's an EF I've not seen. You did great with the Zig. I'd have had it all outside the lines of the raised embossing. Yours looks perfectly done. The gold on the swirlies looks nice with the shade of the green holly, and to my eye, it doesn't clash or look at all bad with the different shade on the raised letters of your sentiment. I know what you mean though, as I run into the same thing with some of the gold pens. Great job with the stickles too. Another thing I'd have had blobbed all over. Your berries really do look like berries, and I'm in awe of the evenness in the shapes of those scattered around. So happy you're feeling like making cards too! TFS & Hugs. Happy Sunday.
Love what you have done with the beautiful ef. A Wonderful card.
