I finally got my act together and made my cards for Darnell's Twofer #3 - which is flowers. I made 2 cards using a floral stamp from a SU! Live Your Dream stamp set.
For the Mother's Day card I started with a pastel pink card base and die-cut the larger oval along with a border using a MS arched lattice punch. The white border was done with a SU! lacy chain punch. The background was stamped randomly with Versamark and the floral stamp, then embossed with white ep, and sponged with Spun Sugar distress ink. The ovals were cut with Gina Marie Designs stitched ovals and the sentiment is from Verve. For the final touch, I added some pink Nuvo drops.
This birthday make began with a Bazzill pastel blue background which I embossed with a WeRMemory Keepers next level Gemstone ef. I grabbed a snippet of green paper lying on my table and punched one side with a MS doily punch. I stamped 3 squares with the floral stamp by coloring it with SU! markers before stamping, then die-cut them with a GMD stitched square die. I matted each square with a snippet of pastel green cardstock and placed them evenly on the green panel. I tied some SU! bashful blue ribbon into a knot and added a SU! white heat-embossed sentiment which I attached with a glue dot under the knot. For the final touch, I added some tiny blue gemstones to the flower centers that I got from Pizzazz Aplenty.
This is what I see when I look out my front door today.........and it's not supposed to stop snowing until around 11 PM. A few vehicles ventured up the road, but you can see that at nearly 3PM we still haven't seen the plow open up our road. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that we don't lose power this time around. They're calling for 1-3" to fall every hour this afternoon and we already have about 6 inches on the ground. Predictions are for accumulations around 1 foot (or more!)
How's that for the first day of spring????
Thanks for stopping by and I hope it's warm where you are!!

First of all, your cards so so beautiful! I love the way you used the flowers for background stamping on that one card. Lovely!!!
Whoa!!! That's SNOW! It's gorgeous but I'm thinking I'm glad I'm sitting here in 80 something degree weather looking at a picture of it! Sure hope you don't lose power too. Stay safe and warm.

Well, I need to get my butt in gear and get two cards made! lol Love both of yours Carol. The mother's day card is just stunning, I had to really look for your flowers and then I saw them in the background. Made a lovely background! I also love the way you used them on your other card, so pretty they are as the focal image. Love the embossing and the punched border. Yep, looks about the same way here only they did come and finally open my road up. So I can see pavement of the road, but....we are going to have closer to two foot of snow I think. It is deep out there and the snow is still flying and will be until late tonight. sigh This isn't the spring I was hoping for! I sure hope this is the last of winter, but I have my doubts. Stay warm and praying that you don't loose your electric. Hugs, Brenda
Such a beautiful little blossom stamp and I love the way you used it two different ways too. It looks amazing as a background design and also looks equally lovely as the focal image. I love all the texture on your cards too. Both are great Spring designs. Thanks so much for joining in the Twofer March Challenge #3.
So much snow! It is making me sleepy. I feel like I got lots done today, but I can see you were way busier. 2 awesome two-fers. Great use of that pretty little flower sprig!
What a post, Carol! You brought us spring with your amazing spring-colored cards and then you left us with the deep freezing snow of winter! I can't imagine how freaky that must be for you! That snow looks really wet and heavy. I hope you don't lose power!
Wow, my friend, your pretty feminine cards are gorgeous! That pink Mother's Day card has a background that looks like a beautiful lace dress, cinched with an expensive custom-made belt! A thoughtful design, beautifully executed!
And your sensational birthday card has style, beautiful colors, and lots of texture and dimension! I love it! Thank you so much for joining in Twofer Card Challenge #3!! Hugs, Darnell
Both cards are so pretty, I really like the different pastels. Great entry into the twofer challenge.
We have around 10 inches of snow. It seems like it is snowing down although they say it will keep going. We shall see! Hope you keep power!
Great job on the twofer challenge! Your cards are really lovely. So far, I'm drawing a blank...Being snowed in might give me some time to think of something. Your snow picture is lovely! It's hard to believe it's spring! Sure doesn't look like it when I look outside my window! (Or feel like it! I want those warmer temps to come our way!
What beautiful cards Carol! Great way to showcase 2 ways to use the same stamp. Love the softness of the pink one but at the same time love the pop of the colored flowers on the 2nd card. Great job! I "wanted" to make it a crafty day just didn't find the mojo! I did however enjoy watching the TONS of birds at my feeders today! Think we have over a foot of snow here but didn't measure.
Love how you used your pretty flower stamp as a background for your beautiful Mother's Day card and as the main attraction on your gorgeous birthday card! The embossed background looks striking!
Thank you for joining us at the Twofer!
Two amazing cards and I must admit I love your photo of your view and at times I wish I could too experience this.xx💖 [Aussie aNNie's Blog]
Wowzers, both cards you made for the two-fer challenge are beautiful, Carol! I love the soft pastel colors and the embossing on the pink card. The 2nd card is gorgeous with the MS border punch and lovely flowers along with the satin ribbon! Such a breath of fresh air with the both and what a great job! Ughh, sorry you are dealing with all that snow, too! We had 2 days of constant snow here and I am fed up with it. Hope it melts as quickly as it came so I can enjoy my pretty spring flowers! A girl can dream, right?! TFS and stay safe & warm!
Gorgeous colours, fab designs, great ideas and Gorgeous cards Carol, as for the snow, OH! my goodness, keep warm and safe.

Fabulous both, so feminine and sweet!! Love so much the background you created in the pink one, so delicate with the patterned stamp and that lace stripe! And the blue/green one is a delight with those squares and the 3D embossing! The drops just add more dimension and interest! Well done!
How many snow, one feet is really a lot!!! ... So glad that today it is melting and there is a beautiful sun. :) Stay warm and enjoy indoor crafting!

LOVE those sweet blossom cards Carol. The blue one is so pretty with the coloured flowers on the vertical panel. The dry embossed background is so amanging and adds lots of depth, along with the pretty sheer ribbon. Your soft pink card is so pretty. Love the blossoms heat embossed in white with the soft pink sponging. So perfect for a Mother's Day card! Thanks for playing along with us at Twofer Card Challenge!
Two really beautiful cards Carol and so different using that pretty flower stamp. It's several days on now. I hope you didn't lose your power. Your photo would look great on a Christmas card! Barbxx
Two lovely cards for the Twofer Challenge!
That stamp is a pretty one and your cards are so pretty.
P.S. That is a lot of snow!!!
Just had to comment on the 2fer & your snow! Good for you at creating 2 such pretty cards. Love both of them, but especially the pink & white with the background embossing. Brr on the snow. I hope you didn't lose power this time around, and were able to stay warm. What a way to celebrate Spring! Looks pretty though! TFS & Hugs
Someone forgot to tell Mother Nature it is spring! I got frostbite just looking at your photo. Lovely delicate cards tho, perfect for spring if it decides to show.
