Gray Mother's Day Card

I combined a few challenges to make this card, and although I'm not sure about the colors, I'm glad to have dug into my stash and used some long overlooked supplies. I found a partial pack of Prism paper cardstock in white, gray and black that I've hoarded for years and used the gray to die-cut the SB nested ovals with my Big Shot. I wove some SU! retired silver and white ribbon between the ovals and attached a little bow. The white panel was die-cut with a GMD stitched oval die and I placed a few clear gemstones on the upper right. The dsp is from the DCWV Luxury stack of pearlized papers and I used a matching Prism papers card base. The sentiment is by Inkadinkado and was stamped with Smoky Slate ink by SU!. I keep wanting to add a touch of pink somewhere because it's a mother's day card, but for the time being I'll leave it as is.

I'm entering this into the following challenges:

Double D challenges - "when skies are gray" - make a card using mostly gray

Cuttlebug Mania - ribbons and bows

Our big Noreaster fizzled out for the most part, but I am not complaining by any means! Bring on spring now and I think we've had enough "onion snow" as the farmers call it :)
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day whatever you do! Enjoy the sunshine!

Carol, I really like this card! Grey is a very modern color and I think it really has a feminine look with that pretty bow that you added to your die cut. That is such a cute look, I mean to try it some day. Hope you have a good Thursday!

Oh my, this is a very gray card. At first I thought you took a B&W photo of it. I do like it as it is unexpected in gray.

I like the monochrome design, its unusual and unique for a Mothers Day card, after all we all make pinky flowery ones so this is very different, makes it a classic ;) x

Great job on the all gray challenge! Love the way you wove the ribbon in the die cut, I've done that before but not with that particular die will have to give that one a try. We got now snow here, figured you at least got some? Oh well bring on spring I guess?!!

Very pretty in this monochromatic colors! The ribbon threaded through out the diecut is just brilliant, Carol! And I also love the pop of sparkle from the ribbon! I'm thrilled that our recent storm was a flop! SO ready for Spring!

Very elegant with the subtle grays and ditto for the pretty design. The woven ribbon through the spaces adds a lot of texture, and the background dp just completes this lovely card. Any Mom would be so happy to receive it. TFS & Have a great weekend.

See what you can do with a look at some of your paper supplies that may be hiding in a drawer. This is so cool with the ribbon and will be a very nice card for Mother's Day. Thanks for sharing this with us at Double D Challenge. Hope to see you again.

It is a beautiful card but I know what you mean, especially for Mothersday it is nice to see some color. But it is still a beautiful card.
