Here's a purple Valentine, made with a hand-crocheted medallion a sweet friend was kind enough to send me. I added a royal purple mat along with a white circle embossed with a Sizzix hearts ef, and placed the Hero Arts fussy cut heart on top, along with the word L.O.V.E. for a sentiment. I sponged a piece of water color paper with Wilted Violet Distress ink and spritzed it with water and let it dry, then stamped the heart and sentiment panels on that before cutting them out and placing them on the medallion. I cut the border twice with a Sweet'n Sassy stamps hearts border die in plum and white, and I swapped the white hearts back into the plum die for some contrast. I placed everything on an elegant eggplant card base.
I'm entering this into the Tuesday Throwdown challenge #377 - favorite color.
Can you tell my favorite color is purple???
Thanks for stopping by and make it a great day whatever you do!

I knew, I knew! What a fun creation, Carol!
The crocheted medallion looks fab on the card, and I do like the non traditional Valentine colours. Lots of great textures x
So pretty. I love the crocheted frame.
Oh how clever to crochet around, what a nice card............Lis
Purplelicious! Love that crocheted doily and the way you decorated it.

Saw the Purple Valentine when I was enjoying the Red Valentine, and of course I had to check this out. Love the crocheted scalloped framework. Sets off this nifty colored heart just right, adds a touch of texture and femininity as well. Ditto the little scallops on the border with the white hearts! (yes, I knew you liked purple! ) TFS
This a fantastic card! The crochet around is an awesome touch
Oh Carol, this is a beautiful card! I love that crocheted doily and I hope who ever gets this beautiful card doesn't throw it away!!! Yes, I can tell you love purple. I've never "loved" purple, but I don't dislike purple either, I think it is a very pretty color-example this card! So it is really starting to grow more and more on me. But then I love ALL colors! lol Hugs, Brenda
