Gingerbread Christmas

My sweet friend gifted me with this cute Gingerbread house die, so I made a Christmas card with it using some very old self-adhesive cardstock I bought from QVC back when they sold craft supplies. The adhesive backing is weathered from age, so I had to give it a little help with some fresh adhesive, but it worked! I die cut the house from tan, and then fussy cut a solid piece of white that was traced around the die. I ran it through my Xyron to lay down some overall adhesive, then placed the die cut on top and pressed that down. Next I sprinkled on some sparkly glitter and pressed it down into the die with a bone folder. I die-cut a postage stamp rectangle from coordinating cardstock and placed it over 3 strips of blue on top of a navy cardstock base. The sentiment is from SNSS, heat embossed with white on navy and matted with matching cardstock from the gingerbread house. This is a rare glittered card from me as I do not like working with glitter, but this house just needed some sparkle and I was happy with the way it turned out. Here's a close up of the glitter....click to make larger.

I'm entering this into the following challenges:

Double D challenge - glitter, glitter, glitter!
Tuesday Throwdown TT#350 - punches and/or dies
Cuttlebug Mania - anything goes with die cuts and/or embossing

Thanks for checking in today and I hope your day goes well for you.

Carol

Loving the cute gingerbread house die, also good to have details of how you layered it. I have some of that adhesive card lurking somewhere I think but from a seriously long time ago - must check if the adhesive is still good (I'd forgotten I had it until I read your post).

This is way cool! What a fun die to play with. It makes me think of all sorts of fun Christmasy candies.

I have some of that really old sticky backed cardstock too. Nowadays it only thinks about staying stuck. Like you, I give it a little help. Another reason to use your craft stash rather than hoard it!

WOW WOW WOW! I totally love anything gingerbread! Love that you added all that glitter to make it pop! I am not one to play with glitter or embossing powders unless I am in a mood, too! Love your Gingerbread House and the design of this, Carol! You outdid yourself today but then again there is not much to do on a very rainy day! Fantastic job! Hugs~
