Birthday Shaker Card

I have a sweet friend who's celebrating her birthday today, and she received this card yesterday, so I'm able to share it with you today.
I made the shaker with tulle - it's the easiest way I've found to make a shaker and the best part? It goes through the mail with one stamp! I used Coastal Cabana cardstock, and added some white, aqua and silver sequins to the shaker. The stars were die cut with a SNSS star die set, and the word "happy" is from a SSS die set. The "birthday" sentiment is a SNSS die and I added Nuvo aqua glitter drops to the candle in the word birthday, as well as 2 of the smaller stars. I randomly added more drops around the card as well.

I'm sharing this with the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge - seeing stars

In addition to my friend celebrating her birthday today, I also have another friend who's celebrating her wedding anniversary today! You both know who you are - I wish you both a fabulous day of celebrating!

Have a great Friday and stay cool if you can! It's going to be another scorcher here today - whew!

Great card and I really must try this for the shaker card, the others are way too bulky especially to post...have a great weekend. No scorcher here but icy cold...xx

What a beautiful card. I bet your friend loved it. The tulle looks gorgeous as the front of the shaker as well as being a practical idea too. Thanks for sharing Carol. Barbxx

This is absolutely gorgeous, Carol!! I am fascinated with the shaker part of this and how you used the tulle! I think it gives a soft beautiful look! Gotta love the birthday diecut as well! You make such amazing cards, my friend! Thank you for the anniversary wishes & beautiful card. It makes me smile to sit and think about 27 years ago today when we both stood in front of the Justice of the Peace and said "I do"! He's one in a million! TFS and Happy Friday, my dear sweet friend!!!
