A Therapy Card

With all of this extremely hot weather we've been having lately, I was in need of a good distraction to take my mind off of the weather. Interchanging negative die cuts is therapeutic for me and I really enjoy doing it. Of course it takes lots of time, but it gives my mind a much-needed rest during the process which is why I enjoy doing it.

For this card I began with a piece of water-color paper, inking it up with Distress Oxide inks in the colors of worn lipstick and fossilized amber. Once it dried I die cut it (along with the flirty flamingo card base) with Lil Inker stitched rectangle dies. The butterfly is a combo of MB Darla and Vivienne dies, cut from snippets of espresso, red, orange, flirty flamingo and yellow. I added a trail of tiny pink gemstones and used a SNSS birthday stamp set to add the sentiment.

I'm sharing this with the Snippets Playground weeks #291 & 292 where the only requirement is to use your snippets.

Thanks for stopping by and do have yourself a great day!

Carol

This really is a very beautiful card Carol and I love the colour combination. Pink and yellow is one of my favourites. I've never inset pieces into a butterfly like this before so am going to have a go. I love everything about this card. Barbxx

Your colourful butterfly is beautiful Carol, well worth the effort. I like the inky background and great sentiment stamp too.

A lovely snippets card - some patience required to set all those tiny pieces back into the die cut. It's something which I actually like doing as long as I'm careful and haven't 'lost' any of the vital pieces when removing the die!!

Fabulous card Carol! Love the DOX background, that's the look I'm aiming for with my 'smooshing' but need more practice here. And am determined to have a go at making some of those jewel bright butterflies - stunning! Ha, I bet you like doing jigsaws too?
