Christmas Cards

I've had this retired SU! paper for quite some time now. I adore the muted color tones, but it's very sturdy and heavy - almost heartier than cardstock, so I found it challenging to use until I came up with a simple design like this. I just cut 2 coordinating panels and rounded the outside edges, along with the kraft card base corners. I used a SU! Perfect Pines Framelits die set to make the tree, adding some sparkly "ornaments" with some stickles and a toothpick. The sentiment was gold embossed with a retired SU! stamp set and was cut with a SU! 7/8" scalloped punch, then layered with red on a 1" punched element. The star atop the tree was a piece of white cardstock heat-embossed with gold and die-cut with the star from the Perfect Pines framelit die set. The chocolate bucket the tree sits in was done with a die from the same set of dies.

I wanted to use up this dsp, so here's another version where the sentiment was matted with early espresso cardstock...

The same papers were used here, but the sentiment was embossed on green, just to make it a wee bit different...

The last card uses some different papers from the pack, along with a pear  pizzazz punched element for the sentiment. I barely put a dent into this paper pack, but I may make a few more of this design before I'm finished with it!

I'm going to enter the first card into the following challenges:

as long as it's Christmas

as long as it's Christmas

does not have to be Christmas, can be any theme

Thanks for stopping by and I hope your Monday kicks off the beginning of a great week. We have severe winds here in PA today, so it's a good day to stay indoors!

  13. Yes, Carol, it was super windy here wasn't it? One of my co-workers had a tree fall on her home and vehicle which did quite a bit of damage. We're still waiting to hear how bad it is...anyhow...what a great set of cards! Gotta love when you can whip 'em out like that! Thanks for sharing your creativity with us at CHNC Extra! :)
