CAS Christmas


Today's card was easy peasy, and I really like the clean and simple look. I have quite a few snippets of SU! retired Christmas paper that's too small for an entire card panel, but they work for this design! I used Gina Marie Designs stitched squares dies to cut both the vanilla and dsp layers, then used a SU! mini punch (r) to cut a little tree out of the vanilla panel. I used an old olive snippet of green to punch another tree and then inserted it into the negative space, adding a tiny red gemstone to the top. I heat embossed the SU! Contempo Christmas (r) sentiment with gold embossing powder and that's all there was to this card. I've made several in assorted colors which I'll share in the future. (After seeing this card posted, the smaller panel looks white compared to the card base, but they're both vanilla cardstock. They may possibly be from 2 different mfrs which is why the color varies?)

I'm also sharing this with Craftyhazelnut's Christmas Challenge CHNC 322 which is anything goes as long as it's Christmas with an option of recyling/upcycling.

I'm grateful for these devoted bloggers who keep us inspired to make Christmas cards all year long with Christmas challenges - otherwise, I'd be scrambling at the last minute in December!

    CAS and perfect! Love that little Christmas tree punch and it fits great in the stitched square. Every time I try to photograph vanilla it comes out white looking. I know this is beautiful in vanilla. Gives it a very elegant look.

    What an excellent way to use those tiny snippets we can't bear to throw away.
    I love the cute little tree and lovely gold embossed greeting.

    I am loving this beautiful, CAS card too Carol! The fact that it is so simple but elegant pulls me in and that it can be mass produced! I hope you don't mind, but I am going to CASE this design!     I do like that tiny country tree and the really CAS design. That is often the right way to go for a Christmas card. I am hoping to get some inspiration to make some more cards soon!

    The embossed sentiment is fabulous on this card. it balances the CAS design and adds such a lovely touch.
    The wee red diamond is perfect on your little tree. What a great snippets card...you should take it over to Di's.

    I love the way the 'Merry' is in cursive and the 'Christmas' in type print. I love text like that. This is a great CAS card for sure. I think these type of cards are the hardest to make!

    Your cards always inspire me, Carol! I love how simple this card is especially if you had to mass produce them. That dsp is perfect and I love that little tree punch with the red rhinestone on top! Your embossed sentiment finishes this off nicely! I have yet to create a Christmas card yet this year..I know, what a slacker! Guess I am just Christmas'd out! TFS and have a terrific day, my friend! Hugs~

    This is another great Christmas card and you know I love it because it is a CAS design. I will be one of those scrambling next fall/winter to get mine done. I'm not as smart as you getting a head start on them. I need to kick myself to get started. I made a couple since January and then just stopped. Wishing you a Merry day.

    I love your card! That little tree as the focal point really works. I know what you mean about Christmas challenges all year. It was a life saver for me last year. I cannot get going on it this year.
