There's a lot of work that went into this simple card, but I covered most of it up! LOL The background panel is composed of 1" squares of some long-retired Basic Grey Indian Summer dsp that I pieced together and die-cut with a Lil Inker stitched rectangle. The panel on top of that was sponged with distress inks in fall colors, then I spritzed a leaf stamp with water and pressed it into the inks, leaving a shadow image of the leaves. I used a SNSS Cocoa Mouse image and sentiment, coloring the leaf with Copics to match the inked panel beneath it. I used an EK success leaf border punch to get the tiny leaves and acorns for the lower border. All layers were cut with Lil Inker stitched rectangle dies.
I'm sharing this with the Snippets Playground #247 since I used lots of snippets.
I'm also sharing it with the Cards in Envy "Goodbye Summer, Hello Fall" challenge.
Thanks for stopping by and make it a great Monday whatever you're doing.

What a sweet little mouse. Why is that some of the simplest cards take the most work? And then to go and cover it all up....
I can see enough of the paper piecing to know it's a nifty quilt design! Very time consuming to adhere all these tiny squares. You've matched the next layer mat color over the black, to those shades of coral, rose extremely well with the marble look too. Love the subtle leaf ghosting on that, and again, the cute image...with more great color matching. Adding on the tiny leaf shapes in the dark shade...just a great look, and I love it! TFS & have a great week. (and you used up some snippets too...!)
Love that adorable little mouse peeking out from behind the beautiful fall leaf! Great card for our challenge! Thanks for sharing with us at Cards in Envy.
Oh how beautiful! I just love that second layer where you did the water stamping. And the little tiny leaves are darling to go along with the super cute image! I am so glad you described your process, very nice. :)
This is such a pretty autumn card Carol. What a shame your hard work got covered up but I can see what you've done. He's such a sweet little mouse and the sentiment is fun. Barbxx
I totally hoard what is left of my Indian Summer BG pad....only a wee bit. Cocoa is looking fabulous, as always! As for the spritz techniques, you are a wizard!
A beautiful card and gorgeous image too.

This is sooooo sweet! :D Fabulous colours! Love the cute mouse and the tiny leaves! Your shadow image of the leaves on the background looks just amazing! And love the dp you used , even if I can see also a little piece of it! :D I think that the stitched panels dies are really versatile and useful, I surely must buy one set of them!
This is such a sweet card.....love the colors and design. What stamp did you use for the mouse leaf? I am not familiar with the letters you indicated? Thanks for sharing.
