A Fun Christmas Card Design

Sorry for being MIA for a few days - but my hubs and I celebrated our birthdays on Sunday (yep, we share the same birthday) and it's been a busy, fun-filled time, ending with friends taking us to dinner last night and then a visit to Cabela's for the first time. We aren't into the outdoors life so much anymore, but the displays at Cabela's are amazing and so worth going to see! Heartfelt thanks to all of our friends for their wonderful gifts and beautiful cards which made us both feel so special and loved!

Onto the cards which is why you're here :)

I found a card similar to this on Pinterest which I wanted to recreate. I bought this SU! tree punch last year and have barely used it, so it was time to pull it off the shelf and give it a work-out. This card was done with both a SU! retired sentiment and dsp, and a gold mirror-card punched mini star. I loved how quick and easy this design was to put together, so I made more......

The gold papers are SU! with a SNSS sentiment embossed with gold ep. The mini stars are negatives from a border die and covered with gold stickles.

Here is the last of my long-hoarded (most favorite ever) SU! holiday thyme dsp.

I tried a three-tree look here................

and here's the entire set. I enjoy making multiples of easy cards, so I just kept going and used up snippets of dsp to create these.

I'm entering the September Rudolph days challenge which is to make a Christmas card and it's always "anything goes." The challenge runs until the end of September, so you still have time to make a Christmas card and play along!

Thanks for stopping by and make it a great week ahead.

Carol

Wow these are fab Carol. I like the modern style trees and the paper piecing is great. I love how your greeting and paper selections produced so many lovely festive looks.
Belated birthday wishes to you and your husband. I'm glad you had an enjoyable time.

Oh Carol, this really is such a clever idea! Great bunch of cards and I might very well CASE you before I finish making my Christmas cards for this year. I have tons of Christmas themed papers and also the same punch (hardly used as well!).

Sorry I missed you Birthday dear girl - hope you had a fun time!

These CAS are all wonderful, this is really a clever idea!!! Fantastic design! Love the contrast by the negative spaces and the dimension of the the die cuts in the large white space!!! Really striking! Love the papers you used, too! Tanks for sharing!!! I have to remember this!

That's a fantastic design for a Christmas card!! I know I'll have to attempt to CASE this too. Love all of them - and really like the card with the three trees! Fabulous cards!
Cabela's is a wonderful place. I've been several times and each time I saw something I'd missed the time before.
Sounds like you had a wonderful birthday too!

That is one great set of cards! Very happy to see you had some birthday adventures. Cabela's is definitely fun to explore. My favorite part are the roasted and coated nuts they sell upstairs! Yum! Can't wait to hear all about it!

Wow! You may call these simple cards, but I call them stunning. The simplicity of the tree punch combined with the reverse image of the one tree, is stunning!
You made so many, I am so impressed with your creativity. I keep saying that I will make more multiples but I am not so good on the follow through!

Thanks for taking part in the September Rudolph Days Challenge.

These are very cool and look easy to make. I was sitting around wondering if I still had this set/punch the other day. Mind you I didn't get of my behind to look, just wondered. If I do have it I will have to give your design a whirl.

I knew it was your birthday! I responded back on my comments but not sure if you get those notifications! I hope you had a wonderful birthday! And that Christmas collection of cards are so lovely!

On one of my posts I made a birthday gift tag and asked "when is your bday" and you put 9/25. It stuck in my mind because its the same date as my moms anniversary. She died 8 years ago at 40. But, I think more of happy things today rather than mourn. So Ill probably never forget your birthday lol. Did I freak you out with my ESP? Jk:)

Awesome set of Rudy Day tree cards. I could NOT possibly pick a favorite! Love the negative combined with the positive, as you've done in your design layouts. Changing up the papers gave such a variety of looks, once you had the design idea. What a start on a great Christmas stash!!! Glad you & DH had such a good birthday (smart of you to find a guy to share a birthday!). I'm the same way with Cabella and Bass Pro. Their store designs are awesome, and it's one of the few stores I've been in, that I didn't buy a single thing! Just looked!!! TFS & Hugs

I really like these. And it is fun to make multiples when you can switch out the papers like that! Great design!
