Distressed Encouragement Cards

Here's the first of 2 silhouette cards that were made with a SNSS "wildflowers" stamp. I stamped the image with Versafine Onyx Black ink, then heat-embossed with clear detail embossing powder. Next I sponged Picked Raspberry distress ink on the bottom and Spun Sugar on the top. I added a little die-cut bird from GinaMarieDesigns and gave him an eye with a white sharpie. The largest flower center was done with a very old punch. The sentiment is from CTMH and the panels were die-cut with Lil Inker stitched rectangles.

I'm sharing this with the following challenges:

Lately I've been trying to make 2 of each card design to build my stash, so I made a similar card in shades of blue....

For this one I used Tumbled Glass and Peacock Feathers distress inks. I omitted the die-cut bird and added 3rd layer done with a square lattice ef. I heat-embossed the sentiment on this one with white ep.

Thanks so much for spending a few moments of your day with me - I hope all your weeds are wildflowers!

Both of your cards are gorgeous, Carol! I love the sponged backgrounds and how different they look in different colors! I was just thinking of pulling out this silhouette image the other day to make a sympathy card. Thanks for the reminder! Stay cool & have a great day!

Those are both so beautiful! I was all ready to praise the pink one and then I scrolled down and saw you made a second one in blue! I really love them both! And I agree the color makes them look so different.

Both cards are beautiful Carol! I love the way you inked them up and I love your sweet little bird. I really thought he was part of the stamped image on the pink one. lol The sentiments are perfect on both cards, with the first one being so true! We really do need to treasure life's little moments more! Hugs, Brenda

Can't decide which one I like the most...but just "maybe" the blue wins out just a bit! I have several silhouette stamps and rarely use them...maybe I should get them out!
