Distressed Christmas Cards

I'm trying to play catch-up with my Christmas card stash, so I made 2 cards using the same Tim Holtz image. I stamped this on white cardstock with early espresso ink, then added a little color with Tombow markers. I sponged the panel all around the Santa image with Antique Linen ink, then distressed it using an old Heidi Swapp distressing tool. I paired it with some red and kraft cardstock which was embossed with a friend's borrowed Sizzix ef.

This version was stamped on vanilla cardstock using Vintage Photo ink, and colored with Tombow markers. I distressed the edges of the image and Northwoods sentiment panel using antique linen ink and a distressing tool, adding some Poppystamps stitched berries and holly leaves die cuts. The background was done in hunter green with a CB folder and the card was placed on a vanilla card base.

I'm entering the Tuesday Throwdown #299 challenge for "distressing" just under the deadline!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great week ahead!

Carol

Great vintage Christmas cards. I like the darker inked one best but the other one is no slouch.

Distressing works perfectly with this awesome vintage image! These are both rich and gorgeous, Carol! When you catch up, can I hire you?! Otherwise, I may need to send postcards this Christmas or just a wave from my house to yours, lol! Hugs, Darnell

Nice to see this oldie image and it's one that I've found to be hard to make look 'good'. You've managed with both color ways, and I think I might like #2's red Santa as my fav. Love the embossing and tiny stitched holly. Good to know you've added 2 more to the stash! TFS & hugs
