Pleated Birthday Card

Today I'm sharing a "pleated" card, where the lower panel of dsp is folded to resemble a little pleat. The cardstock colors used are Razzleberry, Island Indigo, and Pool Party. The dsp and matching ef are from SU!, as well as the stamped floral images in the layered circles. I added a drop of glossy accents to the flower center instead of using a brad or gemstone. The layered circles are were done with MFT stitched circle dies along with a SU! bow punch builder for the tabs. The sentiment is from SNSS and the ribbon is Island Indigo from SU!

The Cards in Envy challenge this week is "Another Year Older" or in other words, make a birthday card. Their challenges are always to make a card that fits into an envelope without extra postage. This flat little pleat adds no bulk so I may make a few more of these.

Thanks for stopping by and make it a great Monday!

Carol

Fabulous birthday card! I love the design and how the paper is folded on that right bottom corner! Thanks for sharing with us at Cards in Envy.

I have to check out that challenge you mentioned. They make my kind of cards--no extra postage needed. It's okay to see all the frills, lumps, lace and bulk but not realistic (in my book). I really like this pleated look. I've seen it a couple of other places and it gives a nifty added interest. Great card!

I like the style of the sentiment too.

This challenge blog sounds interesting as I have really been trying to make more mailable cards this year! I will check it out. I appreciate your sharing the info.

I love this fold, but haven't tried it yet. Your card is beautiful Carol! I love that the embossing matches the paper, so cool. It is cool too how you did your stamped flower on the circles and then used the bow punch for the tails, love this idea! Hugs, Brenda
